Reading this article without a fearful lens, all it’s saying is that some people choosing MAID are also choosing to donate their organs, and that these donations have resulted in a small increase (6%) in viable organ donation. There’s nothing shocking there. A large % of people choosing MAID do so due to cancer, so these people would likely be uneligible. But those with terminal heart failure or neurological illness who want to donate corneas or non affected organs now have the opportunity to do so. If they had been left to suffer against their will to the bitter end, those donations would not have been viable.

Even this article doesn’t mention the money making scheme you claimed earlier. In Canada, organ donation is voluntary and can be revoked at any time. These donations are these people’s final, voluntary gifts, don’t turn it into something ugly.

As for this source, you’re right that the Catholic Church is cool with organ donation. However, it’s irrelevant because they are not cool, and have never been cool with suicide and consider it a mortal sin. MAID is technically a type of suicide, so not rocket science that the Catholic Church wants their followers to not do it.

If you only knew how hard it was to get assisted death you would likely not be concerned about this at all. I have a relative who has been trying for five years. You have to jump through a long list of hoops, exhausting all other options before it will even be considered. It's actually too restrictive if anything.
