to want child maintenance?

My abusive ex-partner and a father of two children (10 and 12) wants me to cancel child maintenance. He doesn't pay me anything, children live with me. He said if I don't call the Child Maintenance Services he would not allow us to travel abroad which is quite a big thing for me as I don't have anyone here and normally travel back home twice a year, with the children. I know i will not get a pound from him anyway but it doesn't feel right to cancel my right to the maintenance. Especially as he cannot be trusted, he will still use the same threat in future even if I do now what he wants me to.
Thank you.

He would have to go to court to stop you from taking your children abroad for less than 28 days. Do they have your surname or his? So long as you can evidence they live with you you can take them abroad for that time.

Stop talking to him on the phone
Use a parenting app so everything is on record

There's a reason he's trying to make you stop going for CMS. Don't!

I have evidence they live with me. They have his surname but I always travel with their birth certificates. Thank you. This is very reassuring.

Thank you. I will look into the apps. Never tried one.
