to feel really affronted that people can be so rude and/or judgemental...

just had a really horrible series of unfortunate events and feeling really upset. was walking home from a playdate with dd (2y and 2m). i am 37 weeks pregnant and really huge. dd didn't want to go in the buggy AND she didnt want to walk in the same direction as me so i picked her up and forcibly strapped her in. cue 20 minutes of awful whining and crying. i relented when we reached our srteet (as i said i would) and let her walk. at that stage she was however still tired and whiny and upset.

enter posh woman unloading the trunk of her huge car who says to dd in a fake sweet voice "do you want to jump in too??" and i said "oh take her" (which i don't think is an unreasonable or even particularly unusual joke) to which she goes "oh what a horrible thing to say, mummy didn't mean it did she" and i am thinking WTF? YOUR kids never had massive tantrums where you just wanted to abandon them?

just then grumpy old man comes by with huge dog in one hand and huge picture frame on the other and HITS DD IN THE HEAD with the blooming frame! dd at that stage dissolves in a flood of desperate tears and snot, i pick her up to check her over and reassure her and the grumpy old man doesn't even apologise and says "look where you're going" and walks on. i turn back to curse him under my breath and i see the bl**dy woman tut tutting at ME (presumably for letting her walk?) and asking in a fake concerned voice "is she allright?"

aaarggghhh i hate the whole neighborood now...
