How to get rid of bikini area hair

After going for a wax every 6 weeks for the last 2 years which a) have cost me a lot of money and b) left my skin tender as it’s very sensitive, I’ve decided I’m going to take matters into my own hands and do my own hair removal!

I hadn’t done anything for nearly 3 months and last night shaved the area as just wanted to get rid of the hair. However I find it really difficult to shave the inside vulva area - basically the inside and outside of the labia. I think I might have cut myself a few times so in the end I gave up doing that area. I also kept changing from sitting on the loo to standing with one leg up on the bath and was struggling to pull my skin and achieve a smooth shave at the same time. Also I’m probably going to get a shaving rash now but I just wanted to get rid.

I am thinking of getting an electric trimmer / razor for the hard to get bits - are these any good? Can you use these on the bum area too?

I am also probably going to go down the laser hair removal avenue but I know you have to shave before you get that done and I want to make sure I’m removing as much of the hair as possible!

So yeah if you have any tips or tricks for the best hair removal method then please enlighten me!

I would just try to do laser if you really dislike it and find wax a faff long term. For me shaving is just awful so itchy and unpleasant also the hair grows back very sharp compared to waxing but I do know people who don't find this.

Daft question I'm sure, but why are you putting yourself through this rigmarole? Sounds horrendous.

Are epilators painful on the bikini area?

I also agree with laser treatment. I bought a home one and it's been amazing. I am really hairy, have black hairs and I also used to always wax. I'm a keen swimmer so the inconvenience and effort in constantly having to wax became so annoying.
The laser treatment is amazing, I'm
Basically completely hair free on my legs and armpits, and my bikini line never needs doing now.

Yes I definitely want to try laser treatment but you have to have shaved right before? And I am struggling to do that!

Yeah you need to have shaved 12-24 hours before. I also hate shaving, never do it, and find my bikini line area overwhelming! But with the bikini line you can do a tiny bit at a time. I'd started just in the bits that were on my thighs (mine goes halfway down my leg), and each time I shaved I went up a bit at a time. Otherwise it would have been too hard to shave, but also too itchy when it grows back (it grows back for about 2 weeks before falling out)
