Why cut the price of draught beer ?

Why not other alcohol ?

1p a pint is nothing to a drinker - assuming the price cut is passed on.

YANBU it's a pointless gesture.
YABU every little helps the working man.

It's nothing to a drinker but a huge difference to the struggling pubs.

It's symbolic of our struggle against oppression.

But how? One penny a pint won't change people's habits at all. Even a gardened drinker will only save 10p or do a day and it won't entice anyone else to go for a pint. Putting bus fares up is more likely to harm the pub trade.

It's a reduction guaranteed to get the cheers and woos that it did, no one will see the reduction (would you really notice 5p on a round at the pub?)

A pub selling 100s of pints a day will see a big difference. It's aimed at supporting the pubs rather than individuals.

There are about 88ish pints in a keg of beer. So the pub will be saving 88p on one barrel. Do you understand how long it takes most pubs to sell that keg?

It’s just a gimmick to get a cheer.
