Inappropriate camp?

DS is 4, just started reception and has always been in full time nursery prior to September. First time we’re juggling half terms and working - I’d been recommended a local half term camp, arts/crafts, sports, singing/dancing etc. he had a great time on Monday but the camp leader was rather eccentric on drop off and scared him a bit initially but when we picked him up later he said he was really fun - so great we thought. DS made a comment that the camp leader had asked my son to put his face on his bottom and he pretended to fart. We thought that was a bit strange.

Picked him up tonight and he said that the camp leader grabbed his face and stuck it on his bum, and pretended to fart while holding it there. I asked where he held it and it was in between the cheeks - I asked him multiple times to show me and it was definitely there not on like a cheek or his hip etc.

DS found this hilarious apparently and when he was picked up he asked him to pull his finger and he made a fart noise so might just be his humour?

Is this inappropriate behaviour? Both me and DH said we didn’t know how to feel about it. It’s an accredited local camp that has a few locations, this guy is the owner and you can pay for it via tax free childcare account so is legit.

I am not sure why you are even asking…..of course this is wildly inappropriate and needs a direct call to the safeguarding team in your area ( unless you think your son is prone to wild stories, I know some kids have a very fervent imagination but I would be extremely worried if my child told me this)

Whether or not it's his humour.. this is wrong. It makes me feel horrible just reading it!!
The pulling of the finger thing, whatever. That as you say might just be his sort of thing to find funny.... but shoving a child's face into his arse and pretending to fart. WHAT???

This is a tactic used by predators to erode boundaries and groom victims .
This is extremely serious and you need to contact the police and your Early Years Safeguarding Team .

I would take this extremely seriously. This man is hiding in plain sight, encouraging (grooming) children to be comfortable with inappropriate proximity to his body under the guise of jokes. Please report him. There is no way a man working with children could not know this was hugely inappropriate, so this man is clearly prepared to take the risk. I think he's very dangerous.
