My regatta waterproof coat says cool machine wash with regatta isotex cleaner or pure soap. What is pure soap? I was just gunna bung it on a 30 wash with the rest of my stuff. Advice please?

If you use normal detergent you will ruin the waterproof layer - so you are supposed to use a product that protects and reinforces it. Just have a look on amazon you will be able to get some there. It is worth it to keep your waterproof "waterproof" - if you know what I mean

If you Google pure soap washing powder there are loads of different pure soap flake products at quite differing prices.

You will ruin the jacket if you put on a normal wash.
Buy nikwax cleaner and rewaterproofing and wash separately. It also needs to be washed on a low spin cycle.

DO NOT BUY PURE SOAP FLAKES FROM AMAZON! I learned this the hard way when washing my regatta coat. The label instructions said either pure soap flakes or their regatta technical wash. Thought soap flakes would be more useful. I was wrong. They blocked the entire machine. It had to be pulled out of the utility room and taken apart to be fixed. The flakes solidified and what can only be described as a 4ft silicon blob was pulled out the tubing. I only used a tiny amount to wash two coats as well.

I have used Nikwax on Regatta coats. Works really well.

Get the stuff off Amazon. Be aware that pure soap produces lots of foam so not really suitable for front load washers. If you do put some in use very little, then finish with one of the waterproofing treatments. But I recommend skipping the soap flakes and using the two stage Nikwax kit wash and waterproof set. It was £13 when I last bought it

@SquashPenguin is right - pure soap is just grated hand soap!
