Tips to settle in new kitten

We are about to bring home a kitten, we have a cat and a 5 year old at home. We have had our previous cat since a kitten so are familiar with raising a kitten. I’m looking for tips to help a kitten integrate into a busy household whilst being mindful of our existing cat. We have lots of time available to spend helping both cats settle and happy to buy anything needed to help.

Congratulations on your new kitten! What's always worked for me is keeping Current Cat and New Kitten separated by a closed door for at least three days (they'll know the other one is there, just as we'd know if someone had a human baby in the next room!). Supervise all interactions at first, and be prepared for some hissing and fluffing. Provide way more food than is rationally needed, so nobody feels like they need to guard resources. And make sure everyone has access to 'their own' litter tray, even once they're fully integrated. (They may share, or they may stick to their own trays forever.)

Best of luck. Please share pictures 😊
