to ask if you've done Lapland with kids - HELP ME

I want to take my son to Lapland in Dec 2025 (early I know!).

He will be just one month shy of his 5th birthday.

I know I can fly directly from Manchester to Rovaniemi with Easy Jet but where did you go / stay / visit when there? What do you recommend / not recommend?

Thank you!

There are some really useful Facebook groups for Lapland. You'll. Get loads of tips and ideas.

I went December 2022 but booked a package with TUI. It was useful as everything was arranged including activities and food and drinks were thrown in

It's awesome - you will have a great time

We did a day trip that flew TUI to rovamini.
They took us about 20 mins away to get clothing and then back towards the airport for the full day.

It was a lovely but long day

There's a pinned post (I think) in the sub reddit about Finland as well.

When I stayed in Rovaniemi, I got a cheap apartment from booking.com. it was cheap because it was January though.
I went to the Arctic museum which was amazing.

Santa's village is quite busy.

There is a pizza/burger restaurant in Rovaniemi that isn't too expensive.

It is really, really cold.
Metal door handles stick to your naked hands.
The inside of your nostrils freeze.
Gloves, a woolen Buff, a hat are important. And thermals. Decent boots to walk in.

Finland is amazing and I'm already back again. I hope you have a great trip.
