To think my working hours and conditions need re-appraising

I'm sorry but my new boss is totally unreasonable in her demands. She expects that i am at her beck and call pretty much 24/7. I mean, it is not too much is it to expect my tea breaks to not be ad-hoc and to be uninterrupted. Everything is done at her pace, whether that be NOW or at a snails pace. I can be quite focused but often find myself held back because she is vascillating from one idea to another and back to the original, over and over again. Sometimes i am so busy i dont know which way is up and then other times, i just have to sit there captive whilst she waffles on about whatever she has seen on TV, or just big fat nothing - it addles the mind you know. I get no holidays and even though i have tried negotiating this, she became quite unreasonable and caused a public scene . Don't get me wrong, i love my job, it is my dream job - couldnt believe it when this position became vacant, but does it have to be so bloody intense! I guess i should have lingered longer over the contract instead of just jumping in with both feet and eyes shut . What would you do if you had to work under these conditions, loved your boss and didnt want to change jobs??

Sounds like a bloke I worked for back in the day with no life and sure he had osd. Sorry I'm not an employment expert in any way, I guess there must be some holiday entitlement in your contract? Waiting for flowery to arrive as she always gives the best advice .

you need a happy medium you love your job dont like your bosses demands

are her demands too intense that you no longer want to work there or is job satisfaction enough to get you through that

she sounds very unreasonable and maybe you do need to find somewhere else if no holidays as surely its against the law to not have any holiday entitlement only you can make your mind up

The main thing that concerns me about your OP is that you say you don't get any Holiday.

You have a Statutory right to 24 days (FT)

Then again are you talking about a Child? This does sound like my 20m old

Yes, and I would be nice to get a "thanks, you've done a really great job" once in a while. It seems to me that a male collegue is getting all the praise whilst i get all the shitty jobs . He seems to revel in it, i have raised this issue with her, she simply said she prefers him over me .

My Boss is fickle and favours various team members depending on who has chocolate in their desk drawers

I'm thinking of taking industrial action - what do you think? Work to rule, or strike?
