Tummy bug

Mostyummy · 22/10/2024 02:09

The dreaded bug seems to have finally got me. Weirdly though, I was sick(and other end-sorry!) about midnight, had some sips of weak ribena, and haven’t been sick again since. So it’s over 2 hours now.
what’s the likelihood of me being sick again?
should add that I’m emetaphobic and absolutely HATE being sick
thanks

Just realised I’ve posted in AIBU. Sorry, brain is mush. Be nice please!

I can't say for sure, how's your tummy feeling now?

Sweetsweettoot · 22/10/2024 02:20

I'd say a good chance you won't be sick again if those sips have stayed put for 2 hours.

I hope you feel better soon.

Feels ‘off’. Just been to the loo and that wasn’t the best. Only D though, not sick. Ugh. This is horrible. I’m tired, on my own with my DC who’s 2(asleep next to me and blissfully unaware)
thanks for replying

Thanks. I’m hoping that’s the case 🤞

I agree with @Sweetsweettoot you're (hopefully) going to be okay if you've managed to keep some fluid down. These things can be a bit unpredictable though so take it easy.

I hope you manage to get some sleep too :-)

BeNavyCrab · 22/10/2024 02:37

If it was me I would try to go to sleep. I think it's unlikely that you are going to be sick again, after keeping fluids in for a couple of hours. You will probably wake up feeling much better in the morning. Hugs 🤗

Should I take Imodium? I’ve heard people say things like ‘let it run its course’, but it not a very nice course to be part of!

PS. I love Mumsnet in the middle of the night. Makes me not feel quite so alone, knowing there’s a kind bunch of strangers, who are also awake 🥰

No don’t take Imodium. Sickness and diarrhoea, though unpleasant are the body’s natural way of quickly removing bad things from the body. Imodium will trap it in.

Oh… I took one about half an hour ago. The Imodium website said it was ok. I’ll let you know if I make it through the night! 😵‍💫
