Why did you not vaccinated you're baby/child

Just that really, parents who choose not to vaccinated their children what made you decide? How are you're kids now do they get sick often ? Any allergies?
I don't want this turning into a debate of why you should vaccinated you're child I'm simply asking parents why they choose not too? So if you can't respect people's decisions not to vaccinated please don't answer on this thread

I am pro vaccination. The vast majority of parents vaccinate their children. And thank goodness for that. I expect people who choose not to vaccinate their children do so due to a lack of education. This is different to a lack of information. Everybody has information about vaccination at their fingertips, but not everybody has had the education to help them discern good from bad information.

Candaceowens · 20/10/2024 20:01

Because I did my research and made an informed decision that I did not want to vaccinate them.

And your comment about not wanting to start a debate is pointless on a topic like this, although I'm sure you know that.

Why are you asking?

Soubriquet · 20/10/2024 20:01

Sorry but I’m pro vax. If not for my child, but for herd immunity. You aren’t seeing the long term problem

Birdscratch · 20/10/2024 20:03

Because polio and diphtheria sound like a barrel of laughs.

I slightly delayed DD's second round because she reacted to the first. I sought medical advice and was told to delay but book them later.

I can respect someone's decisions to take medical advice on vaccination. I can't respect someone's decision to endanger their child and everyone else's.

DownWhichOfLate · 20/10/2024 20:05

Conspiracy theories, innit? People saying they did “their own research”, which would consist of them googling what they want to find to back up their paranoia, rather than actual clinical research. Or their mate told them. Bonkers.

As is so often the case, first reply nailed it 👌

Yep, confirmation bias!

And for me it was because I didn’t want them to be ill with potentially life changing diseases.

This certainly wasn't the case for me.

DownWhichOfLate · 20/10/2024 20:18

@Candaceowens - no? So you did your own clinical research for years? Published it? Do let us read, please, I can’t find any legitimate papers denouncing childhood vaccinations.

I'd like to see this research.

Is it peer reviewed?

Haha, so funny, so original.

That's a 'no' to actual research, then?

Tbh, not necessarily. I researched, and upon doing so, found that the rotavirus vaccine had been pulled twice (at that point, 7 years ago) due to babies being admitted into hospital with twisted bowels. This was on the NHS website if you clicked far enough into it, and confirmed by the nurse admitting the vaccine. So my DD did not have the rotavirus vaccine. I don't think many people are aware of that.

The rest of the vaccines were given, albeit delayed.

That's a no to your oh so clever comment about publishing.

You making out that only thick people who believe what they read on Google or heard down the pub wouldn't vaccinate is far, far from the truth. But you're so well educated so you know best.

Thank’s to all of those other babies who did have the rotavirus vaccine allowing your child to stay healthy from what can be a killer bug for tiny people then eh?

That's exactly what they're saying, it's what they all say. If you don't choose to put your own child at risk then they'll call you selfish, and worse. Happy to be called selfish for the sake of the health of my child.

They have all these stupid arguments about people not doing their own research but I guarantee you did far more in coming to the decision not to have it, thank any of them did in choosing to have it.

Not sure how far my attempts to get you to engage your two brain cells will go, but let’s try…

No - I’m saying that if babies everywhere were dying from rotavirus you’d have grabbed the chance of the vaccine, but you didn’t have to do that, because so many other babies have had the vaccine, which is what kept yours safe.

PepaWepa · 20/10/2024 20:34

Wow. My comment has been deleted.

I repeat. It was on the NHS Website and confirmed by the nurse that the rotavirus vaccine was sending babies to hospital for surgery for twisted bowels.

Absolute disgrace to delete my comment.
