it is probably you they're waiting for Madamez

We used to live much closer to city centre and football ground. Actually used to wake us up when they left!

Are you sure it is a helicopter?
Check the rest of the house for battery operated items that may have inadvertently been left switched on.

When my dd1 was 5 she went AWOL and a police helicopter was used to find her.

Longest half hour of my life (until the following week when she went missing for an hour!)

She didn't do it again after that.

Sorry if the helicopter finding my daughter annoyed any one.

I once called the police to say, 'Do you mind telling HOW long you intend to allow that helicopter of yours to fly over my house, young man, when I am trying to sleep, young man?'.
To which he replied, 'Just so long as the riot continues in on the streets madam'.
'Right. Then. Goodnight officer. As you were.'

I always have foam earplugs around now. I hate these little irritations.

We get loads of ruddy helicopters round here and I am entitled to resent them because they are used by rich gits to avoid having to drive on normal roads with the rest of us plebs. Bloody rude IMO.

Police helicopters are a different matter. (Although bloody irritating too when I lived in Saaaaf London where they came over every half an hour, it seemed.)

that is super elasticwoman. what a great service it is.

i live near a police helicopter base and in a fairly dodgy area so there is much hovering. it is annoying but how could anyone complain?

And you didn't notice?! Blimey. Honestly, round here it is damned millionaires flying back from wherever it is they go - presumably the City.

I'll swap your helicopter for my next door neighbour????

They have gone away but have not turned off their stupid alarm clock so we get Beep Beep Beep for THREE hours every morning - yay. Not the first time either

Bungalow - do you mean the Brixton riot of 1981? If so, you have a long memory!

Where i live we seem to be on the main flightpath for all the military and "joy flyers".
On Mondays around lunchtime we always get a really low flying military jet that is literally inches from the roof of our house and it makes the whole house shake.
But if he/she went just a few meters to the left they would be over the fields, why does it have to be right over our house! .
Sometimes we get police helicopters, especially if any prisoners have escaped down the road, they even searchlighted the gardens on our estate the first year we moved here.
But the worse ones of all are the "joy flyers", especially in the summer they spend hours flying over us doing loop de loops then you can hear their engine chug chug then die out, then a few moments later it starts up again and the pilots who for some unknown reason like to fly at night at 3 or 4am really low.
Are they not supposed to be flying at that time and are trying to avoid radar?

But at least a few years ago, we had a really good view of Concorde when she last flew over the west country and she was quite low and she sounded so loud!
Sometimes we also seem to get loads of Chinnook helicopters flying in formation (double rotors) and they fly low over the house and it sounds really scary.
But we don't get this all the time, otherwise i would be a nervous wreck!

It's probably Prince Wullie on another "training" exercise. You're not having a party are you? perhaps he wants an invite
