They looked hideous in the seventies when men didn’t know better. Now they’re combining that terrible look with an even more terrible look - the mullet. Why do men seem to want to look like porn stars?

It's the fashion among the youth - us oldies aren't meant to get it.

I think this must be an age thing. I’m late 40s and see young men with this look everywhere and every single one of them looks like he should be on a list. Yet my daughter thinks they look perfectly normal and I’m old fashioned.

Maybe but not as old fashioned as a bunch of young blokes cosplaying a 1970s flasher.

Yeah - and it's just fashion. This stuff goes around and comes around.

The point of Movember has always been to start the month clean shaven and grow a tache over the course of the month. So it’s not this. People are just liking taches. Which is fine.

Agree most look awful as do most beards. With beards I think it is laziness in many cases, perhaps with moustaches it is people who follow fashion without thinking whether it looks suitable for them.

I agree Op, I don’t find them attractive at all. I also don’t like mullets and they’re coming back as well! Luckily DH has a job where he needs to be clean shaven and have a very smart hair cut!

I was thinking the other day that so many men have beards and moustaches now, 'Movember' would have more impact if they challenged men to be clean-shaven for a month.

That one looks like one of the stick on 'taches you get from the party shop and how the hell do you eat without getting loads of food stuck in it.

Personally, I'm not keen on any excess body hair on men or women.

Everyone stop laughing at the men, please, and remember that when they adopt ridiculous fashions it is not because of stupidity or vanity like those silly young women, it’s for charity. Show some respect and be grateful.

I quite like a decent, full moustache. I don't mind a mullet either.

I always feel quite happy for men who want to adopt 'a look' instead of going for the identikit fashions that so many of them accidentally bimble into.

Hate Movember, traveling back from London on a late train at the end of November with a train load of men with moustaches that they wouldn’t normally have and makes them look creepy.

I work at a university, and loads of the young men have 80s style mullets and moustaches. It's just the fashion.
