Room with a View and Howards End.

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about Room with a View. The scene where he kisses her in the field still gets me every time.

NamelessNinja · 16/10/2024 06:47

Lord of the rings, not exactly a heartwarming watch but comforting as I've seen it so many times!

I adore You’ve Got Mail, Meg Ryan is wonderful and Tom Hanks is just right.
When Harry met Sally, I could quote the script verbatim. “Oh but baby fish mouth is sweeping the nation.”
Jaws, just for the nostalgia, killer sharks aside it reminds me of 70s Summers.
Hot Fuzz, silly, very English, comforting and funny.
Railway children, just for the line “daddy, my daddy.”
Alpha Papa, very silly siege caper, sort of soporific, can “watch” with your eyes closed. Well it is set in a radio station.

Me too re When Harry Met Sally, one of my favourite lines - "You made a woman miaow??". Cracks me up every time. I love that film so much.

Pride & Prejudice.
the BBC Box Set with Colin Firth.
(not the awful film with Keira Knightley)

Yes!! forgot about this. Once binged the whole boxed set with my DP while I was studying in London, started one day and just carried on watching them all through the night as we couldn't switch off. Fabulous.

mamajong · 16/10/2024 07:11

Breakfast at Tiffany's, coyote ugly, dirty dancing, Notting Hill

Sausagenbacon · 16/10/2024 07:16

You do know that there is an area on the site for films? Why do posters just bung everything on AIBU?

Newgolddream70 · 16/10/2024 07:18

I can't believe nobody else likes Strictly Ballroom! It is our Christmas classic (not that it has anything to do with Christmas). We had it on video, then DVD, and now we just download it.
