to think 10 pounds is a reasonable amount for B'day party present or am I being a cheap skate?

I'm just shocked by how much people spend on presents for parties - I have 3 DCs so take the appropriate number of gifts. However, was at a party today and felt very mean - isn't 10 pounds per child (as a rough guide) about right or am I completely out of touch?

My Ds isn't ' cool', so he doesn't usually get invited to parties...problem solved!
If he was invited, I'd bargain hunt but definitely would not go over £5 including card/paper...better things to buy with my money.

Under a Tenner - raid Woolies for offers. Get card and paper from Card Factory as v. cheap.
£10 plus only for special freinds.
Would be penniless otherwise
