For context: I'm 36, mum of three (youngest is 2.5), work four days a week.

Im also someone who needs a lot of sleep.

So... introductions over. I'm in bed for 8/8.30 and asleep 8.30-9 every night. I then get up at 5.30/6 with my toddler.

Aibu to ask your age and when you go to sleep?

1957Denise · 13/10/2024 22:09

64 - 10pm

NetZeroZealot · 13/10/2024 22:11

60 & go up to bed after the BBC news at 10 ends, so about 10.35. Read in bed until
11 - 11.15. Up between 6 & 7.30 depending how long I’ve been awake in the middle of the night.

BabyCloud · 13/10/2024 22:12

34 and in bed from 8 to 10pm during autumn/winter.
My teen is often settled in her room by 8/9 with her TV on or on FaceTime with her friends. She has always enjoyed winding down so I often do the same.

Plainer · 13/10/2024 22:12

I'm a night owl, bed is usually between 2 - 3 am. I also have a creative self employed job that I do from home, so I quite often work in the wee hours.

I love the night - it's SO peaceful. That said, whenever I do get up early, I absolutely love the early mornings as well. I think if I didn't have responsibilities, I'd be completely nocturnal😂

I'm also a bit surprised at how early many people got to bed. Interesting thread, OP!

lydiaaa · 13/10/2024 22:12

42, asleep 1am-2am, up at 7am.

ReignOfError · 13/10/2024 22:12

Almost 70, around midnight, and I read for an hour or so. Awake about 9, have breakfast in bed, and up around 10am.

It’s blissful not to have to behave like a morning person, after 60* years of having to do so for school, work and parenthood.

llamalines · 13/10/2024 22:13

49, midnight-ish, up at 7:15 on weekdays.

Timelash · 13/10/2024 22:14

45, usually between 11pm and midnight.

Always up by 7:30am, and 5:30am twice a week for gym sessions at 6am.

Mrsrivella · 13/10/2024 22:14

Nearly 52. Normally in bed 10
ish, sleep by 10.30, up at 6.15. Occasionally revert to teenage self and bed around 2 am, still wake at 6.15

lucya66 · 13/10/2024 22:14
  1. Bed 9.45-10.30

up at 6.30

I like bed and sleep. Can’t tolerate late nights.

Giggorata · 13/10/2024 22:15

Nearly seventy, retired and few obligations. Between 1 am and 3 am, usually and rise around 9/10 am the following day. Sometimes an afternoon nap, of around half an hour.

One of the best things about retirement has been reverting to the semi nocturnal way of life that I had in my youth.

Musiclover234 · 13/10/2024 22:16

45 work 4 days fulltime hours( healthcare)
in bed by 10:30 latest…. asleep either within 10 minutes or hours later (insomnia issues) no kids

Joycedelight · 13/10/2024 22:19

Early 40s. Go to bed at 11pm , alarm goes off at 5.50am. I'm shocked by some of these early bedtimes. How do you have a life going to bed so early? Do you not have hobbies, friends to see, exercise or housework to do?

Pllystyrene · 13/10/2024 22:20

39 and 9.30pm normally but I have a newborn who won't follow any kind of routine at the moment.

Doubledded123 · 13/10/2024 22:20

Things might change if I met someone worth staying in bed with.

Threeboystwocatsandadog · 13/10/2024 22:20

60, any time between 1:30 and 2:30 am. I don’t sleep until after 4. I’m retired so can get up any time I like and often do!

ZippyDenimBear · 13/10/2024 22:21
  1. In bed at 9 or 9.30pm.

Asleep about 12.30am. Awake anything between 8 and 9.

Doubledded123 · 13/10/2024 22:22

Yes I'm shocked too. I'm usually mopping floors
Wiping the kitchen
Folding washing til 9! Full-time job single parent

Slothfully · 13/10/2024 22:24

Do you all go to bed so early because your life is empty and the evenings a nothing?

Unless you, whose life is so full that you're spending your evening sniping at strangers on an online forum.

doodleschnoodle · 13/10/2024 22:27

I am 38. I usually go to bed about 11pm and am up around 7ish usually on non work evenings. On my three work evenings, I'm in bed around midnight-1am.

blacktreacles · 13/10/2024 22:29

31,midnight, get up when my baby wakes about 6.30

walkingnightmare · 13/10/2024 22:29

I'm mid fifties and bed around 11.00. So many people here saying they go to bed at a certain time, but they've posted after the time they say! Are they sleep posting or do they mean they go up to bed then, but actually spend hours on MN instead of going straight to sleep?

Susieblue18 · 13/10/2024 22:34

55 and usually asleep by 00.30ish. Set my alarm for 7.20am
