To think opening a tin of fish in a train is antisocial!

Had this earlier today. A couple were making their dinner on the train (literally brought the contents of a small kitchen with them!) decided to open a tin of the stinkiest fish to mix into the salad they were making. They then left the empty tin open on the seat behind me and it wafted fish smell for 2 hours until the journey was over. I couldn’t move as I was in one of the only seats with a socket to charge my dying phone.

Absolutely rank IMO. AIBU?

Eggs too. I love an egg sandwich but I don't want to smell yours the entire journey.

I never quite get the people who have a banquet on a two hour train journey. That said, I once saw a man have full Indian takeaway in foil trays, including naan, on a train, and I truly respected and admired the extent to which did not give a single fuck what anyone thought; he was having his curry. That smelled lovely though.

Oh no that sounds awful.
Smelled worse than it sounds I imagine too.

Even certain crisps smell bad on a train journey.

Yeah. I made a hot fishy sammich in the work kitchen and someone asked me why I was eating it there. I replied Well i wouldn't eat it it the main office. It stinks

Could you not have asked them if they'd mind wrapping it up/throwing it away?

Was it two cats?

Yes I never understand people eating fish or eggs etc in public enclosed spaces like public transport or an office.
