For me the biggest one is Jacob Rees Mogg. He puts the fear of God in me. He reminds me of some villain in a horror film. If I see him on TV or a picture of him I actually get the chills.

I also find a really unsettling energy about Louis Walsh and David Walliams.

Jim Carrey, I don't know why, I find him soon creepy. Maybe as the first film I saw him in was The Mask, which is creepy anyway.

And my local MP is super creepy, she has a weird high pitched fake laugh

I can't bear him either. Except in the Grinch, because you can't see him, and in the Truman Show, because he's not trying to be funny in it.
I think it's because I saw a clip of him popping up behind a woman breastfeeding on a park bench in one of his films, and leering and gurning at her and it completely freaked me out. I was 4 months pregnant and probably hormonal.

colouringindoors · 12/10/2024 19:55

So many...
Tennant - ever since he started playing baddies so chillingly convincingly....
Kevin Spacey - similar and then watched docu about allegations

Walliams, Trump, Musk, Brand, Vine, Johnson etc

Sepoctnov · 12/10/2024 19:55

Cross posted on Noel Fielding@Fivetreehill!

Funny how the same names are coming up. Isn't it strange that some people give off that air off being a wrongun. There's a lot to be said about gut instinct.

Oh also Ant and Dec

I have met Ant and Dec and found Dec to be lovely but Ant was not so great.

Mr Tumble/Justin's House actor and Prince Philip (long before he was nearing death).

I was going to say Justin Fletcher. I can't imagine him being a normal person and comes across odd and secretive in interviews.

LonelyLongDistanceRunner · 12/10/2024 19:59

Jeremy Corbyn. Just vile.

What a horrible thread.
Where do you all get off on judging people you've never met?

And yet people will always have opinions and are allowed to express them. It would be a different story if you were to go up to someone and give them shit to their face or spread false stories online. But you can state an opinion.

Mogg seems authentic, out of touch but still not putting on a facade. Walliams, Walsh and other “celebs” seem fake. Those I find creepy include Kamala, George Clooney and Keir Starmer. Jim Carrey is nuts but seems like he just found a niche. Will Ferrell is 🤮

I have just read a biography of JRM. His bumbling, old-fashioned head in a book toff persona is totally fake. He is extremely power and money hungry. He married into the upper classes, he’s not a real toff. He’s a pushy acquisitor who decided to lay on a veneer of eccentricity to fool people. He’s a truly awful man.

TheRomanticOutlaw · 12/10/2024 20:04

Nobody has said Nigel Havers yet.
Or Bob Monkhouse.
Showing my age but I always found them both so, so smarmy/oily.

TheRomanticOutlaw · 12/10/2024 20:06

Oh, and Jimmy Carr. Cannot bear him.

Crunchymum · 12/10/2024 20:06

7 pages and no mention for the most sinister man in showbiz (in my humble opinion of course!)

Michael Buble.

GlitchStitch · 12/10/2024 20:08

Owen Wilson- his voice, hair, everything.
Will Ferrell- really creepy especially how he always seems to be cast with much younger beautiful women.
Tom Hiddleston- both cringey and creepy.
Meghan Markle- same.
Yes to Jimmy Fallon. Manic laughter that never seems to reach his eyes.

TheRomanticOutlaw · 12/10/2024 20:09

Yes to Will Ferrell and Owen Wilson!

T4phage · 12/10/2024 20:15

Are there more creepy people on tv now or has there always been? Apart from Savile I can't remember being creeped out by people in the past. We're awash with them now.

Waboofoo · 12/10/2024 20:15

I said to my DH that Rolf was a wrongun and I was right

I dunno about creepy but my spidey senses kick in for David Walliams and Paloma Faith.

Cocolapew · 12/10/2024 20:18

Will Ferrell
Prince Harry, I always thought his personality was put on and he loathed people really.
David Tennant
Jay Z

bestlfloor · 12/10/2024 20:21

Apparently, in publishing, it's well known David Walliams doesn't write any of 'his' books. I'm sure that's the least of it, but it's best to be careful what I say.

TreesWelliesKnees · 12/10/2024 20:25

No one has mentioned Brian Cox yet. He makes me recoil. I cannot look at his smarmy face.

He may be perfectly pleasant. Sorry, Brian, I can't help it.

Ah interesting. Poor you, reading the book 😂

NasiDagang · 12/10/2024 20:35

Nigel Farage 😱

Angela Rayner makes me shudder. Reminds me of a school bully. I can clearly imagine her being one of the mean girls and shouting abuse in the school corridor and giggling with her mates about it, or punching someone in the stomach on the school bus. It makes me feel genuinely anxious when I see her on tv and have to turn over.
Hoping I’m wrong and she’s actually really nice in real life.

I was going to say Angela Raynor too, and Diane Abbot, both seem sly and a bit nasty to me.

Neil Oliver and his tin foil hat bless him.

Me too! I think he’s very creepy.

Same, I can’t tolerate Jim Carrey at all.
