For me the biggest one is Jacob Rees Mogg. He puts the fear of God in me. He reminds me of some villain in a horror film. If I see him on TV or a picture of him I actually get the chills.

I also find a really unsettling energy about Louis Walsh and David Walliams.

Isn't it weird how the same names crop up over and over. We must definitely have a sixth sense that picks up on bad vibes?

I can agree with many already posted. I dislike John craven who used to present countryfile. I used to hate that Fred bloke who did the weather on this morning too....

Or echo chamber confirmation bias from a tiny pool of people

Sunrise1815 · 13/10/2024 08:49

The ginger one from Girls Aloud. Sorry, don't know her name. She gives me the creeps. She looks haunted.

ChocNice · 13/10/2024 08:51

Too many super-mainstream super-successful creepers evidenced or just giving off creepy vibes in every industry to even be able to recall them, but entertainment really seems to attract creeps- the Gallagher brothers. MJ, Depp, Jay Z, Ye, going back all the way to Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Bowie. So many a part of pop culture still. Active debate on art v artist boundaries in our family.

Plastic surgery often makes people look waxworky, visually creepy. Lana Del Ray always looks scary. Madonna I am sorry she got into surgery, despite being such a pop goddess and seemingly pro woman back in the day. Nicole Kidman. Tom Ford.

Rylan I don’t find creepy in either sense, he’s had work done but he has a podcast talking with men about masculinity in which his values come across good.

I've been hearing a lot of people saying they they don't like David Jason, is this the same DJ who played Del boy or another one as I alway thought DJ was well thought of and hailed as a national treasure?
Whats made him fall from grace that I've missed?

I think people are just believing the rumours and stuff around him, no idea if they are true.

Plus, isn't his wife getting a lot of bad press lately?
Like attracts like, and all that.

I think the same about those two: they seem so "plastic" to me... I suspect they are really mean and put on a mask of "quirky", funny, "not-perfect-just-normal" couple. I can't stand them. Plus they're both bad actors.

MsNeis · 13/10/2024 09:00

Curious about those of you who've mentioned Miriam Margolyes: why? (I ask genuinely: there's something about her I don't know what but feels off...)

taxguru · 13/10/2024 09:01

I think with David Jason and Cliff Richard, it's not something that's "instinctive" in the same way it is with others mentioned on here. It's more that there's been a lot of mud slinging and some of it is sticking, so people are basically believing hearsay rather than there being any instinctive "creepiness" about them and as far as I know, there's no evidence at all.

I know absolutely nothing about David Jason, so can't comment.

However, I can't believe anything bad about Cliff Richard. He had a lifelong friend in Olivia Newton John (some suggestions of an affair back in the early 70s), and she was very careful with her friends throughout her life, often refusing to work with, nor having anything to do with, certain people, even famous Hollywood stars. She seemed to have a brilliant "radar" for creepy/dodgy people. She had life long friendships with lots of people, famous and otherwise, and not a whiff of scandal, so I'd trust her judgement and that leads me to believe that Cliff is OK! She'd not have got involved with him in the first place and certainly wouldn't have been a life long friend and still working with him decades later had she had any qualms.

George Clooney really creeps me out - the whole do-gooder, self-deprecating, chivalrous, Mr. Nice Guy persona feels like it’s hiding something darker and sadistic. I’ve read that he plays really complex ‘pranks’ on his friends and co-stars. They come over as designed to embarrass and gaslight. I always have the feeling he’s covering things up with a nice act. Keanu Reeves in comparison comes across as a genuine ‘mr nice guy’

I agree completely with everything you just said!
Matt Damon makes me feel the same way.
Also Brad Pitt.

Daniel O'Donnell. Off the creepy Richter Scale!

KitchenDancefloor · 13/10/2024 09:33

@taxguru I understand that some people will believe rumours about celebs and therefore think they are off but with me I have always, always found Cliff Richard creepy.

If the thread was about the one person that was your top ick, he would be my singular choice.

He comes across as insincere, entitled and expecting to be centre of attention. Not helped by interviews where he doesn't seem to be able to interact in a normal human way. The hair dye and Botox are and extra layer of 🤢

I'm glad he had a good friend in ONJ but the tv or radio gets turned off in this house when he appears.
My husband finds Christmas shopping with me hilarious. If Mistletoe and Wine is played in a shop I have to fight the urge to put down the shopping and leave.

Yes that is a ridiculous and extreme reaction but I've felt that way since before I heard any rumours about him.

(Sam Smith is second on the list)

notacooldad · 13/10/2024 10:02

Why are people finding David Tennant creepy?
I've seen his name crop up on the same thread topic over and over again.
What am I missing?

Sticking up for his trans child I think.

Google David Jason gliding club

2MargerinesOnTheGo · 13/10/2024 10:37

Another vote for Walliams. He makes my skin crawl. There is something very sinister about him.

Cliff “Kitty” Richard always creeped me out. First became aware of him with “Livin Doll” with the Young Ones. Creepy as fuck song lyrics.

Alan Davies aka Johnathan Creek, QI. There is something about him I really feel fearful of, and everyone I have told do not have the same response.

Eamonn Holmes

He's so sanctimonious

DanielaDressen · 13/10/2024 10:42

I think Simon Cowell has distanced himself from Walliams big time as he was worried about someone kicking off about Walliams behaviour and BGT being tarred with a scandal .

UnnecessaryOwl · 13/10/2024 11:11

Oh 2 more that came to mind that I haven’t seen mentioned, Rob Schneider and Shia Lebeouf.

DoctorTeeCee · 13/10/2024 11:28

Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen
Les Dennis
Rebel Wilson
Jimmy Carr
