whoever you voted for, what are your thoughts after the First 100 Days?
I didn’t vote for Labour, but I was quite excited in their first few weeks as Keir got his head down and I was excited fir change.

Now I just feel deflated. Same old….freebiegate, nitpicking, infighting. A bit depressing really.

i don’t even think there was a decent alternative really….and that’s even more depressing!!!!!

That’s when the punitive hidden taxes kick in. You’d know that if you were a high earner.

I passed that threshold when I was in my twenties. That was a very long time ago.

They have a few years to go and I work in the City.

You work in the City - back office or?

Odd that you voted Labour, unless you work for the Old Lady or PRA etc.

Nine years ago, Ms Reeves had her parliamentary credit card suspended because she owed more than £4,000 of unauthorised payments.

A Freedom of Information Act request revealed that Ms Reeves, then shadow work and pensions secretary, was one of 19 MPs to have their cards suspended by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa) after failing to show spending was genuine.

And she’s Chancellor? Jesus wept…

Not quite as simple as The Telegraph would have you believe. I don’t know why they bothered with an FoI request, it was widely reported at that time.

An Ipsa spokesman stressed that the debts from 29 June were a “snapshot” and in many cases could merely be awaiting evidence from MPs that they were valid claims.

“An MP may owe an amount to Ipsa for many different reasons, and the fact that an amount is owed does not, in itself, indicate any misuse of the MPs’ scheme of business costs and expenses,” the spokesman said.

Sorry, who’s the encumbent Chancellor. The one who will make decisions on the 30th, the pre-effects of which are already being felt by many?

Remind us of her name please?

Try not defending the indefensible for just once. Your credibility is in tatters because your beloved party are Teflon to you.

It’s not implausible. Finance and Legal services pay very well in London. Though it is still pretty impressive to hit £100k in your 20’s. I certainly didn’t. That has only come from many years of effort. ( I’m an engineer, and not in London).

Earlier this year, as shadow chancellor, Ms Reeves told GB News that checking her bank statement made her “wince” as she found that “the money coming in is increasingly short of the money going out”. This was at a time when MPs were earning more than £86,000.

This is someone who worked at the Bank of England and whose household income – including her senior civil servant husband’s wage – must be four or five times higher than the UK average.

Clearly she needs more freebies!

I am aware. I work in IT in the financial sector 🤣 I don’t believe them. Funny how the highest earners pay some of the highest taxes in the world. To the point it’s serious damaging our economy and productivity - according to leading economists. Less for everyone. Everyone, including HMRC say we are at a tipping point now - where more tax take may result in a net loss. Yet the small, tiny percentage always rock up here, willing to pay more. It’s lies.

Well all I can say, as a very high earner; who pays over £50k a year in income tax. I certainly don’t want to pay any more. It’s unfair, and a total waste as nothing will be improved by it.

I voted Labour and was so happy when they got in. I have mixed feelings.

I was happy when they immediately stopped the Rwanda scheme. I was very impressed by the swift and effective way they dealt with the riots. I like the zero tolerance on racial hatred online and in real life. I like the way they filled the cabinet with experts rather than cronies.

I'm neutral on the winter fuel payments and freebies. Neither are a big deal to me (my parents aren't rich but supported the winter fuel payment decision).

I'm very disappointed with the "We stand with Israel" comment and the lack of condemnation of what's happening in Gaza. The atrocities we're seeing are absolutely horrific, and I hate the fact that our PM remains silent. I feel history will judge us in this respect.

Are you happy with what’s happening in the channel due to Labour’s policy?

Politics of envy???

There’s a little enclave of allegedly high earners here that are totally incapable of understanding that some of their peers aren’t like them @Chrysalistastic. Because they resent every penny of tax they pay they can’t comprehend others not seeing life the same way. They also appear not to understand the link between taxation levels and the quality of public services.
