fridge repair

I have had 2 sleepless nights because of my fridge noises .. which are fine during the day .. but in the middle of the night seem to turn into a ticking timebomb of imminent exploding fireball leaving us stranded upstairs or plumetting to our deaths

if you see what I mean of course

Have also waited in all day for dds birthday ipod to arrive - should have come this morning. I just know it'll arrive 5 minutes after I leave to pick other dd up from school.

curlywurlywee · 23/04/2008 14:28

Forgot - also washing machine repair man condemned my machine today. Great!! No washing done for 3 days but now can hardly get up the stairs!

Twiglett · 23/04/2008 14:29

he showed up and left again within 2 mins and said he hasn't got the part

but the good news is that it seems I don't have to pay for the part as Samsung will replace it as a design fault

however I don't know if I'm still stuck with the £80 call-out charge or not

Oh my God, HOTPOINT! You don't know me from Adam littlelapin (am v new to MN) but now I feel we share a bond!!! You have taken me back to a dark time in my life...we too had a Hotpoint fridge freezer that went wrong one month after the warranty expired. The saga that followed defied belief, culminating (some TEN WEEKS later, during which time we had no properly functioning fridge) in them agreeing to deliver a new one between 12 and 7pm one Friday afternoon then sailing past the house in their van at 5.10pm BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIND A PARKING SPACE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE!!! They told us we had to rearrange delivery for another day. In the end I or members of my family totted up the amount of time we had spent waiting for Hotpoint engineers to arrive - it came to over 24 hours. Sorry rant over - have hijacked thread. Anyway I am also of the never-again-Hotpoint school.
