Is My boyfriend right I shouldn’t do the school run with a dad

Basically my son started school recently and he normally waits outside for his friend who live on a road near ours and we all walk back together. My boyfriend drove past and seen (he knew we walked) but he heard me say something like well hopefully I will see you tomorrow when I left.
he argues that I shouldn’t be close with a man I just met and theres no need. This man is a single dad who’s wife passes and had no ‘mum’ friebds. I feel so torn because if my boyfriend was walking with another mum I might get jelous but it’s so obviously platonic

He's being ridiculous. We live very close to a friend of DD's and it's not uncommon that I'll end up walking DD to/from school with either the dad or the mum, or that DH will end up walking with one of them.

What does your boyfriend expect - you refuse to speak to this man? Ignore him when he talks to you?

My partner and I share school drop offs and occasionally do it together. We will regularly bump into and start walking with other parents we know and sometimes of the opposite sex. It genuinely would not occur to us to be jealous. It's just friendliness and important for children to feel part of a community.
@Bedandtoast your partner sounds controlling and possessive. It's really not normal to stop you from being around other men.

Already done, posted at 11am and by 4pm had dumped him, very efficient!
