What could this be??

Hi everyone,

My DD (3) is coming up with 'hives' reactions around his body every day. It appears on random parts, on the back, face, legs, arms, bottom, everywhere, then it goes after about 15 minutes. It comes in patches, sometimes it looks like my DS scratched that area, other times it looks like a whole patch, or even just a dot.

I've gone to the doctor's and said I think it's hives, but they said they don't think so. Also, as I am the mum I will know what is causing it and to look for the causes.

I have tried checking what the cause is, but I honestly have no idea. It comes when he scratches himself, sits on a plastic chair outside, wears socks, wears nappies (it doesn't appear every time he wears one), sits on toilet seat, sits on high chair, sometimes out of no where. I truly don't know what it causing this.

Has anyone gone through this before? Any idea what it might be?

My son had hives, we thought allergic reaction, but GP said it was tonsillitis although he didnt complain of a sore throat but did have a mild temperature

My daughter had this when she was about 18 months. Even the slightest touch or brush against something brought her out in a welt. But it didn't seem painful and went away after a few weeks. Doctor said it wasn't too uncommon and probably triggered by an infection. Apparently called dermatographia.

My DD tended to come up in a reaction when her skin was touched when she was little, it sort of eased off over time. Hopefully your DS/DD will too.
