Galaxy counters have been discontinued

Am reallllllly sad. I don't want minstrels. And I don't want to buy a bag of revels just to get counters. Also I don't want a bar of galaxy.
Everywhere near me is a counter free place. The only counters are the ones you put the till on.

Maybe the one show will do a bit on their untimely demise. I am sad.

You can still get topics and drifters where I live. And of course counters

Drifters?! They've been gone since 2000s

All of the Galaxy fans here, have you not noticed how much the chocolate has changed though? It used to be my favourite chocolate, I now never ever buy it, after not being able to finish a small bar. I'd rather have supermarket own brand, choceur from Aldi is amazing.

MarkWithaC · 09/10/2024 17:20

Oh no, I hope this isn't true!
Although I find them only very rarely anyway.

Former Galaxy fanatic. It looks like it is coated in white wax. Also the odd bar I have had from a newsagent tastes stale as well? I think the formulations changed when they switched to a bit of powder - I think the days of milk being in the mix have long gone.
I am in my 50’s and my fave was a bar called Golden Cup. It was always expensive so it was a rare treat.

Yes, it tastes salty to me as well, the texture is now awful. It was ever since they changed the shape of the pieces imo that the taste changed with it.

Oh my gosh, Golden Cup!! I am in my late 30s, but remember it well. As a child my dm would buy this as a treat, and share it with me. It was like a posh Cadbury's caramel, and tasted sooo good! Why do they ruin everything?!

I just did a reallllllly out of the way trek to morrisons. Counters: zero. Minstrels: a million. I felt like i was on an episode of don't f//k with cats.

I am still sad. Hopefully nara smith will do a video on how to make them.

Definitely available around here.
I love Galaxy but only the huge bars. Not because I am a glutton, but I prefer the shape and texture of the blocks

@LittleGreenDragons I found them, they tried to hide them in the corner but I spotted the packet from your photo. Heaven help my teeth

I suspect the workers wanted to keep them all to themselves rather than sharing with the public 😉 Did they taste good?

Daleksatemyshed · 10/10/2024 10:35

They did, they were really nice @LittleGreenDragons

ANDisayWhatsGoingon · 11/10/2024 15:36

Somebody mentioned Revels upthread, they sell them in Asda.

I am so upset about this. And my local Tesco have stopped stocking Galaxy caramel which was my other favourite! And milkybar have changed their recipe last year so now that’s vile too.

☹️☹️☹️☹️

What did milkybar change? That was always my fave treat to get from the shop but I’ve started thinking ‘they’re not the same’ the last while. I should have realised they changed the recipe. It’s quite dry now, not as creamy.

Yes it seems quite stale doesn't it. My dc prefers Asda's white chocolate buttons/bars. Their milk chocolate ones are good too.

Not sure exactly when but they upped the sugar and reduced the milk. It was on their social media like it was a positive thing! Now it just tastes shite. 😩

I emailed Galaxy direct. They confirmed that they have not discontinued them. They also sent me a list of places that have them and that they are online. So that’s good news hey

The absolute bastards.

First, dark chocolate bounty. Then caramac. Now this.

And what’s the government doing about it? NOTHING
