Aibu to want to scream at these posts?
Usually a 'light the blue touch-paper and retire' topic, which sets us all off on a massive argument discussion, asking the OP for clarification, and all we get is a resounding silence
Accepting that people aren't surgically attached to MN, and that they have stuff to do, does not excuse the astounding refusal to come back to one's post, even if it is only to say 'thanks for replying, but byyeeee'
Sorry, perhaps I get too invested, but people take time give genuine replies, and are then effectively ghosted by the OP. Disgusting

Also the ones who post about medical problems or relationships, and then just don’t come back.

Reallybadidea · 07/10/2024 07:19

Tbh if people still post after a couple of pages of replies (usually saying more or less the same thing as everyone else) with no response from the OP, then more fool them. If the OP has got a kicking, as so often happens, I don't blame them for not coming back.

But I do agree that it's rude to ask for advice and not thank those who have given helpful replies.

ChanelBoucle · 07/10/2024 07:19

I agree, I think it’s so rude! Whenever I’ve started a thread (rarely) I’ve tried to acknowledge as many replies as possible, with the thanks button at least.

shuffleofftobuffalo · 07/10/2024 07:19

A lot of the threads though really aren't helpful by the time the OP might come back or have time to read/respond. Misread OPs, massive projection and assumption, huge judgements made, often downright nastiness - some of them are so much like the lions den it's no wonder the poster doesn't come back. Especially if they are feeling very vulnerable and looking for support. The OP doesn't owe the readers of mumsnet anything!

StarSlinger · 07/10/2024 07:31

Some trolls know very well how to push MN buttons.

Thank you for your replies!
I see your point, @shuffleofftobuffalo but sometimes, the OP shouldn't post on aibu if they don't want to be argued with!
