Does anyone share my adoration?

Me!! Love him and his story!

mjf981 · 07/10/2024 02:12

Me too. I think he's brilliant and very easy to watch. And a bit sexy too ;)

FlippertyFlopperty · 07/10/2024 02:48

He is sexy!

Not a fan tbh.

He’s a bit too left wing for my tastes.

ReformMyArse · 07/10/2024 06:32

Needs to lose the student scarf though.

ShamelessCatLady · 07/10/2024 07:11

Yes he’s very watchable and I’m envious of him. What an interesting life he has had and still has. Handsome and charming too. His wife is a lucky lady!

beeloubee · 07/10/2024 19:21

He's gorgeous and yes he's a great presenter

ProvincialLady2024 · 07/10/2024 19:23

His Desert Island Disc is a good listen. He's a fascinating chap. Watching him on a Sunday evening is so soothing.

1909sunset · 07/10/2024 19:25

He’s very comfortable with himself which is very watchable.

StarGirrrl77 · 07/10/2024 19:37

He is fascinating and totally hot 🔥 Bloody hell! 😄 I so wish I'd gone to one of his shows that he does, he was in my area recently and I stupidly left it too late to get a ticket.

suburberphobe · 07/10/2024 19:40

Me too!

I love his programmes because I'm an avid traveller. He just does them so well.
Looks like he's a great guy too.

Ellerby83 · 07/10/2024 19:46

Me too. I love his programmes (and him) such interesting stories. I found his last series a but dull though.
From his programmes I assumed he was standard BBC posh bloke and was quite shocked to read about his background. He has done so well to turn things around and be so successful.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 07/10/2024 20:10

He's really engaging to watch.

Decembersunset · 07/10/2024 20:30

I remember him as I watched his show about my home country and it was really a great representation of his attitude.... He asked a local old man about old times, local 's memories were positive...Simon then proceeds "oh the old man is looking at the past through rose tinted glasses, but WE know better.. " not realising how ironic it is to imply you know better about something which happened before you were born at the place you've arrived an hour ago. So I'm taking whatever he says with a pinch of salt.

BluebirdBoogie · 07/10/2024 20:35

Me!

MoanyPony · 07/10/2024 20:36

Love him.

He manages to park his ego when working. Even my teenagers will come down and watch TV when he's on.

Crikeyalmighty · 07/10/2024 20:37

Ooh yes!!

mitogoshigg · 07/10/2024 20:37

Me! Love his shows, he balances general travelling with more grit about real people so well

Downplayit · 07/10/2024 21:06

Yes...him and Ben Fogle are my secret crushes. But as someone else pointed out the scarfs really need to go!!

sparklyfox · 07/10/2024 21:08

I find him likeable and some of his documentaries are fascinating. I also think he's quite courageous. However, he is overtly left wing and some of his interpretations of geopolitics are quite one-sided and basic.

Strikeback · 07/10/2024 21:10

Saw him live and he was great. I see he's making a series about Scandinavia, can't wait!

senua · 07/10/2024 21:12

Simon then proceeds "oh the old man is looking at the past through rose tinted glasses, but WE know better.. "
He always finds something to be miserable about, wherever he goes.

Lifestooshort71 · 07/10/2024 21:22

Not me! I find his habit of repeating what someone has said back at them as a question very irritating! 'The fruit bats only fly at night'....'Wow, so the fruit bats only fly at night?' He does like to make a bit of a drama out of a crisis as well, more stiff upper lip please, Simon!

Suffolker · 07/10/2024 21:27

We love him in this house! I love a bit of armchair travelling and seeing beyond the tourist image of a country. I’m taking DD to one of his live shows in a few weeks because I wanted to see him 😁

Hollysox · 09/10/2024 16:55

I think he is great and know people who met him when he was filming in the Lake District. They all say he was lovely. I am due to go and see him on his tour in Kendal next month but am no longer able to go if anyone wants two tickets!
