Just out of interest really, it is possible to post images but we see very few, no memes... just curious how/why it remains almost entirely text based.

Because endless memes are boring and photos are identifying.

Lol OK, fair enough

People really seem to despise when others post photos on here.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/10/2024 21:34

Lots on the Gardening board.

Because this is a place for discussion, not posting inane memes. There's plenty of social media out there if posting images is your thing.

I wish HQ would take steps to have even fewer images on here by removing all the revolting medical issue photos and threads.

I love a dog photo thread, they pop up very regularly.

DreamW3aver · 04/10/2024 21:36

Because it's for grown ups to converse without the need for stupid memes and gigs

This.
Plus, it is an anonymous forum, and photos are likely to be identifying

Because when I do try to post a picture (mainly on cat threads) it works around one time in ten from the app. It's rubbish.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 04/10/2024 22:12

Everyone's probably fed up with seeing memes everywhere else. They're mostly inane and samey. What I like about this site is that it's about conversation.

Abitofalark · 04/10/2024 22:22

Because it's a discussion forum. It's not facebook or instagram. I remember seeing a spate of them once on a feminist thread - it was one person spamming the place. Someone posted a garish flashing image the other day without a thought that such a thing could cause migraines or other problems for some people.
