Can't, I am at work and we are only allowed IE

SheWillBeLoved · 22/04/2008 15:05

Where the hell is the spell checker on it? would save the poor backspace key alot of work

FAQ · 22/04/2008 15:06

sometimes we're so unsure of the spelling of a word that even Firefox inbuilt spell checker can't fathom out what you're trying to type

nappyaddict · 22/04/2008 15:07

i have firefox but there's no inbuilt spell checker.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 22/04/2008 15:08

Mine is automatic, it underlines to tell you you have been an idiot, then when you left click it gives the correct spelling (S)

It can't cope with a few things admittedly.

if you know a word is spelt incorrectly (and writing sp? indicates that!) then just spend 2 mins looking it up in an online dictionary!!
its so lazy to not bother!

Indith · 22/04/2008 15:09

Oh wow so it does! See now I knew it underlined stuff but hadn't realised the right click bit

SheikYerbouti · 22/04/2008 15:10

Go to tools then add onn and enable the dictionaly

I have mine enabled. But I can spell, I just can't fucking type

I use it

  • but how do I make the UK dictionary the default - it keeps resetting it's self to USA
hecate · 22/04/2008 15:12

Not you Cod, if it tried to deal with you it would blow up and take the entire internet down with it!

DrNortherner · 22/04/2008 15:12

I have firefox and no inbuily spell check.

Anyway, i MN for fun, it's not my job. I type quickly and spell things wrong in error on ocassions. Who cares?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 22/04/2008 15:15

Tis fun though, i.e snurk is suggested as knurls , snubber, Turkish or nursery

My computer skills are er basic to say the least and so I type with an old fashioned dictionary to hand! Haven't got a clue how else to do it! So where do I look for an online dictionary - always willing to learn! (Don't want to mess up DHs computer!)

2point4kids · 22/04/2008 15:26

Dictionary here

Go to the link, then click on 'favourites' and then 'add to favourites' from the menu at the top of the screen.

When you need to use it, click on 'favourites' again and the link will be shown to select!

FAQ · 22/04/2008 15:31

yes but even an online dictionary sometimes can't fathom out what I am trying to spell....

madmuggle · 22/04/2008 16:38

I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 5 and there seems to be no spell-check as yet

SmugColditz · 22/04/2008 16:39

No, because I use it, and it's often wrong.

TheDevilWearsPenneys · 22/04/2008 17:05
