Would you close cms claim?

I’m suppose to receive £7 a week for my children but this hasn’t been paid in a year as ex owes debts that apparently take priority. He’s never paid maintenance since we split 7 years ago because he has been off and on benefits the entire time. He does not see the children and I’ve noticed recently he deleted my number. Would you just close the case in this situation? I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle and £7 is an insult anyway but worst of all he doesn’t even have to pay it and the fact he doesn’t see them and has deleted my number makes me think I should just let it go. I think for my mental health I may just be better off closing the case and accepting he has got away with it.

I think for that amount of money I would leave it. It would personally annoy me seeing it come into my account as like you say it’s such an insult of an amount. So personally I’d rather live without the annoyance that it would bring me when he did/didn’t pay me. However it depends how much that amount makes a difference to your budget. A really tough and awful situation that everything falls at your feet in providing for your children.

Thanks for your comment no I dont notice it coming into my account at all and like I said hasn’t been paid in a year anyway. Bumping to see if anyone else has any advice
