Children sharing a bed

If two same sex children share a bed out of necessity, how long can they do this before it becomes a problem?

Children are age 9 and 6, both boys.

I don't think there are legal limits ,when I was growing up I had twin beds in my room and my sister had a double bed in hers ,we often shared a bed or she slept in my room in a twin bed despite having a choice.

Don't read into something like this too much, OP. Bed sharing is hardly unhealthy for young kids but just bear in mind that if the older DC hits puberty hard and wants space/privacy, there at least needs to be the possibility of a twin bed setup.

Well my ex husband has decided that 16 and 14 year old siblings m/f should share a bed for three nights. Maybe I should start my own thread. It's not as if he can't afford alternatives...
But as to your question, is the bed at least a double? Are they happy enough to share for the time being? I think you'd soon find one on the floor if there were any issues

Can you not change to bunk beds?

Thanks all. My children share a double bed at their dad's. It's a one bedroom flat so he sleeps on the sofa bed when they come round. I'm glad it seems ok for now but I feel like they will need their own space soon.

It depends on the kids. My boys are a similar age and are quite interested - in an innocent curiosity way - in each other's private parts. We have stopped allowing them to share a bad or a bath because it doesn't seem like a good idea.

But I am sure many siblings would be fine.
