Christmas is always a stress.

I don’t like March. Every year I think that March will feel like the start of Spring but the reality is that it’s just an extension of winter but feels even worse because you feel it shouldn’t feel like that and the winter has already felt so long.
I cope with the bad weather in Jan and Feb, but I get so frustrated by bad weather in March.

Shardlake63 · 29/09/2024 22:21

January until Easter for me.
Christmas and New Year have been and gone. The weather is usually at its worst and everything feels dank and miserable. Holidays seem a lifetime away and the days are short and dark.
It feels like such a long slog till spring kicks in.

I don't like summer, particularly July as that's the month I lost my dad.

Don't like the heat and live in SE England so we get it badly
Always get more migraines and my son has terrible hay-fever. Daughter is like me and hates the heat too.

Also the constant daylight, bright sun and it's so noisy outside. All my senses get tired.

Love autumn and winter and quite like spring before it gets too hot.

You are me. Apart from our kids, everything you've written is me, in fact I could have written it.

I wonder if living in the SE changes our perspective of summer? Maybe if we lived in a cooler, wetter part we'd long for summer!

I agree about the noise outside

Summer, I hate summer. Count the days until autumn every year.

So do I

LittleMissLateForWorkAgain · 29/09/2024 22:31

@Abracadabra12345 I m originally from NE Scotland so the heat of the south east can be hard to take.

It's nice that other people feel like it too!

Crikeyalmighty · 29/09/2024 22:36

I hate October and November- all the really shit things in my life (62) have happened at that point - and hence I associate them mentally

NoahsTortoise · 29/09/2024 22:40

100% January. It's so grim, all the excitement and festivity of Christmas is suddenly over and you're just back to work, skint, fat....in the dark and cold. Awful.

AgainandagainandagainSS · 29/09/2024 22:42

Easter.
I love Holy Week and the build up (I am very involved in our church) but since my beloved grandmother got ill and died, Easter Day brings me little joy.

rickandmorts · 29/09/2024 22:43

Jan/ Feb. I have horses, it feels like it's been muddy, dark and cold for ages. Spring seems years away. At least in March I know Spring is round the corner. Each Winter seems a little harder than the last 😩

MrsAvocet · 29/09/2024 22:50

I think every time of year has it's positives. I love the changing seasons. Autumn is probably my favourite but there's no time of year I actively dislike. There are certain days, such as the anniversaries of my parents' deaths that I find difficult but there's no long periods of times I find problematic.

MerelyPlaying · 29/09/2024 22:57

December - the days are getting shorter and all the pressure about Christmas. It brings happy memories of big family gatherings but sadness because things are different now. I spent last December crying nearly every day - despite having lots of good things going on.

I’m trying to prepare this year, I’ve bought new pyjamas and bedding, I’m lining up some box sets for watching, and books to read, planning to get all the shopping and cards and other shit done really early so I don’t have to go anywhere with Christmas music/decorations. I’m also aiming to go out for a walk every day to get some daylight.

it will just be a relief when Christmas is over.

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 29/09/2024 23:00

Jan - March - can still find some positives but definitely my least favourite months of the year, I'm over the dark dreary weather by then and none of the sparkle and cosiness of Halloween/Bonfire/Christmas.

DriverMeCrazy · 29/09/2024 23:00

February. Feels like it’s been dark, wet, windy and cold forever. We’re an outdoorsy family so spring and summer are loved in my house.

T4phage · 29/09/2024 23:03

I don't like the summer because of the heat. I also get a terrible sense of dread in the autumn for some reason. I like the weather, but I tend to get a depression between September and November. I don't like Christmas, but soon brighten up once January comes.

Gymnopedie · 29/09/2024 23:04

Late October, November and part of December. I hate that the days are getting darker and shorter.

Although the 21st December is the shortest day, the sun sets later from the 19th. It's only by a few seconds to start with but I always cheer up. At least it's going the right way.

moggerhanger · 29/09/2024 23:08

Christmas. It feels like everyone else is off doing lovely extended family stuff, and we're just me DH and DC x2, on our tods, the whole period. (No close family that would visit us or vice versa.) I know that the advertiser's Xmas isn't reality and that many would envy our set-up, but I do end up feeling wistful and isolated. Still, we make the best of it.

Safxxx · 29/09/2024 23:09

Learn to embrace every season ❤️ they don't last long anyway

itsalwaysthesame · 29/09/2024 23:10

Hate summer (I'm in SE and it's humid, hot and I can't sleep).
Favourite time of year is now to Christmas
Not keen on jan & feb either

TeenLifeMum · 29/09/2024 23:13

End of January. A colleague goes on holiday last week of January and I think that’s a fab idea but need to wait until dc leave school before that’s an option.

TeenLifeMum · 29/09/2024 23:13

I’m assuming those who hate summer loved the one just gone? Never got hot enough to dig out the fan from the garage!

TulipTuesday · 29/09/2024 23:15

January and February here too. For all the reasons mentioned, but also the anniversary of my parents’ deaths are in those months so that doesn’t help.

Once my birthday arrives in the middle of March I can feel the spring starting and I look forward to the rest of year then.

I'm an overweight post menopausal woman, so anything over 16 degrees is too hot for me. Then there's the humidity to deal with if it's been raining.

OnYourTogs · 29/09/2024 23:23

Bluevelvetsofa · 29/09/2024 15:55

Most of autumn, the whole of winter and Christmas in particular.

Yes this for me. Love spring and summer, long days, light, warmth.

Gunz · 29/09/2024 23:33

January/February are the worst for me. I try to set up a mini break somewhere Feb/March to have something to look forward to. I also use these months to plan a spring/summer break.

Tomatina · 30/09/2024 02:06

December, January, February. Grey, wet, cold, windy and it's dark by mid afternoon. March was also a big disappointment this year as it rained every single day.
