Eh? Just posted on a thread and comment has been immediately hidden for MNHQ to look at?

Just that really. Nothing controversial it was about someone having an issue with their business and as soon as I posted that message came up. Any ideas?

Don't get what the AIBU dilemma is, ask them on site stuff

WingSluts · 28/09/2024 08:56

I had that recently. Some words are so commonly used for non-genuine purposes (advertising, scams) that I think they flat and automatically hide until review.

I recently mentioned a type of electronic currency and my post was hidden for a couple of hours then shown.

I get it’s frustrating but on balance I prefer they take these steps to protect us from dodgy folks.

Reallystoked · 28/09/2024 08:57

Some words are auto banned so if you used them your post would’ve been automatically hidden, I saw it happen to someone the other day. I’m sure it’ll be looked at by a person and unbanned but maybe email them to discuss?

Mentioning a type of trainer worn by school children can get a post hidden (due to a PBP)

KnottedTwine · 28/09/2024 08:59

I had that on a thread the other night about second-hand and cheap fast fashion. I mentioned the inlaws love for a famous Chinese tat-site which starts with T and ends in MU. Instantly hidden. Probably because people post endless affiliate links to that site to earn money, and also because the site is the most unethical around.

I was on my phone not my laptop, not sure if that makes any difference.

Ok thanks all. Sorry for posting in AIBU but it's never happened before, so you know traffic etc. I'll just wait it out then. Was trying to be supportive.... hey ho.....

Ah, that might be it as I did reference that Chinese business behemoth as it was relevant to my experience. Makes sense... thank you.

I’ve also had that happen once. MNHQ explained it was a trigger-happy AI type thing - a random word or two, nothing actually bad. They restored the post immediately.

Actually just chuckling to myself as am currently watching Person of Interest again.... who knew that predictive programming was a real thing 😂
