To ask for tips on making a strong impression as the first interview of the day?

I’ve been scheduled as the first interview of the day for a role I really want. I feel confident but I also think being the first can sometimes make it harder to stand out compared to those interview later. Any tips on how to make a lasting impression, especially as a first candidate?

It’s a senior role with lots of autonomy. This is the last stage of the process and the CEO of the company will be present.

Wear vibrant colour like red if you feel comfortable - something to brighten their day. I think just being chirpy in the morning helps..depends if you are a morning person?

I was actually planning to wear red, haha! I don’t shy away from colour. I’m definitely not a morning person, but I can make it work!

I think you’ve got the advantage. Everyone after you will have to measure up. You set the standard. Be confident.

Prepare really well, make sure you know your stuff. Think about what questions they may ask and how you would answer. What story do you want to get across. What you wear is not going to make you stand out in a good way. Wear something appropriate that makes you feel confident
