I bet they were good bin bags though, what were they made of - angora wool?

I do love a good strong bin bag. Paid £3.80 for 10 last time. It’s my everyday luxury 😂

I read somewhere that there is only about 200kg of Manuka honey produced a year, not enough to export !

Well they sell it in British supermarkets so they must be exporting it 💁‍♀️

A bottle of Persil Bio Laundry Detergent Liquid 1.431L is now £9 in Tesco.

Their own brand Colour Bio Liquid Detergent Super Concentrated 60w 1.5 L, which works perfectly well, is only £3.39.

Teapigs have always had stupid prices. What I can't understand is who the hell buys them?

I help in a food hub and we always have a big supply of tea pigs.

What do you use instead of bin bags?

Personally I take the rubbish out with my hands and bury it in my back garden. Then when I get hungry I dig it up.

Oh no, wait, that's foxes.

RosesAndHellebores · 26/09/2024 22:03

Does anybody pay full price for Azeera?

Differentstarts · 26/09/2024 22:03

Me googling tea pigs as feeling like the only person on this planet who has never heard of them

Yes stuff has gone up. But a hell of a lot of wages have too.5 years ago my cleaner charged £11 an hour.... now she charged £17. 5 years ago I earned £95k now I earn £150k.

Wage inflation goes hand in hand with rising prices. I don't really get why people are surprised.

Sue grey is that you?

fashionqueen0123 · 26/09/2024 22:05

Think retailers are taking the mick now. It was the whole cost of living thing but now I think it’s just them taking advantage. Stuff is massively leaping up in price still. It hasn’t stopped. They will use any excuse possible

Differentstarts · 26/09/2024 22:05

A recipe learnt from a school friend many years ago.

Mashed potato with chopped up corned beef covered in Heinz cream of tomato soup. Try it, it’s lush. You can thank me later.

LBFseBrom · 26/09/2024 22:08

I've just found Co-op 4p bin bags on a roll for £1.65.
I can't say I've ever found the Co-op to be particularly expensive and I browse all the supermarkets for my deliveries.

Regarding cooking oil from Tesco, price varies according to what type and size. That's the same anywhere surely.

workingtowards · 26/09/2024 22:08

One red pepper for £3.70 from Ocado.

ThinWomansBrain · 26/09/2024 22:09

Also M&S - not cost (well it was £8.75 for a part meal for two people) slow cooked beef bourguignon - I checked the date to make sure it would keep in the fridge for a couple of days - 10 October, nearly 3 weeks.
that went back on the shelf.

I find the cost of Heinz ketchup extortionate! It’s £4 in every shop near me.

WonderingWanda · 26/09/2024 22:12

Small jar of instant coffee £5.59

redalex261 · 26/09/2024 22:12

@workingtowards this is absolutely fucking outrageous. What absolute dickhead is buying this and thereby endorsing it?
