Not sitting 'normally' on sofa

I've had several appointments at home recently. People come in and sit on my sofa like they are supposed to - sitting upright, feet on the floor. They look totally comfortable that way.

It made me really conscious that I never sit on a sofa like that. I generally sit sideways or with my feet up. In the evening watching tv I often lie down. If I try to sit 'normally' I end up with a minimum of a knee up on the seat and it still feels far too unnatural and uncomfortable.

Yes I do wonder if this is a male/female thing.

Obviously at someone else's house I sit properly. At home I often sit with my feet curled up beside me. Stocking feet that is.

DH never, ever. I just can't imagine him sitting like that. Nor any man if I am being honest. I remember talking to friends about this once, years ago. Friend said that she, her sister and her Mum would often sit on the floor and her Dad was incredulous that they would choose not to sit on the furniture. I must admit I always use the furniture now (in my 60s) but at the time I could relate more to the women on the floor

I'm another sofa curler. My feet dangle uncomfortably off most sofas, at home I have a footrest so I can face forward to watch TV, but at other houses I just tuck my feet up in whatever chair size I can. Ideally I grab a "foot chair" and sprawl across both chairs.
I'm hypermobile and mid-ADHD diagnosis so it might be that.
Most days I get dead legs at some point from sitting weirdly, does that happen to other sofa sprawlers?
