Has anyone wondered if Diana and Dodi or just Dodi knew about Mohammed Al Fayed the creep?
I guess we will never know?
If they had both been alive now and still together it would have surely been a news item though?

The CPS determines what can be prosecuted based on evidence brought to them by the police. They don’t independently start locking people up.

The police, who incidentally, had a sponsored Harrods patrol car (?!). MAFs Head of Security is ex MET and was threatening victims and their families etc. So not the police’ finest hour again was it.

Don’t make it political about KS when it’s quite clear there was a massive cover up wayyyy before anything even got to the CPS. The evidence may also not have reached a threshold.

Apparently a spokeman for KS has said that "the case did not come across his desk" and that "he had no knowledge of it"

I wonder if the palace knew about Fayed......

I imagine Diana probably knew a lot of things about a lot of high profile people but turned a blind eye as long as she was living in the luxury she was accustomed to. She had many good points and it's tragic she died so young but she wasn't the perfect angel she's been made out to be since her death. I doubt her fling with Dodi would have made it to Christmas 1997.

@OverthinkingOlive would it? Could she have found semi permanent escape to the USA or overseas without a hugely wealthy protector with own security detail? Aristotle Onassis wasn’t attractive to Jackie Kennedy for his moral superiority & good looks.

I’m sure they did. Fayed was always rumoured to have a massive chip on his shoulder about not being accepted by the aristocracy and royals (pre Diana & dodi). It was rumoured to be part of his reasoning behind buying harrods to try and buy acceptance by British aristocracy.
i wonder how much of Diana’s relationship was an added bonus to winding the royals up. I don’t think it was ever going to last.

you also have to remember it was different times, women were seen as culpable in their fate for being alone with men like this. It didn’t matter the power difference, or age difference. It was not that long ago, yet generations in terms of how women’s assaults were viewed. It would have been seen as mutually beneficial. She gets special treatment and promotions, he gets favours. Everyone’s happy (accept they obviously aren’t). How many times were those employed in the 90’s or 00’s hear “she slept her way to the top”

MAF wasn't the only wealthy protector in the world. Diana would never have ran out of options.

quite. and it would be down to police to ensure their safety not the CPS.

it would be down to the royal family advisors to talk to the individuals of the royal family about rumours of moral conduct. not the cps
