Princess Diana Question?

PassingStranger · 26/09/2024 12:35

Has anyone wondered if Diana and Dodi or just Dodi knew about Mohammed Al Fayed the creep?
I guess we will never know?
If they had both been alive now and still together it would have surely been a news item though?

Yep, blame the women. That's right. Well done.

How has she 'blamed the woman'?

Is it true that Kier Starmer was in the CPS at a high level when the decision was taken not to prosecute AlFayed?

Ooh interesting. Now that he’s in power we are really seeing him destroying himself, champagne socialist.

skyfalldown · 26/09/2024 15:00

I mean you could equally ask if she knew about her pedo brother in law

Acornsoup · 26/09/2024 15:02

Do you ever wonder if your DD is a creep. I'm guessing not.

before she married in, likely not. No.

Also paedo is about sexual attraction to pre pubescent chlldren, the lady in question was 17. She was under the age of consent in America. However he has never been accused of paedophilia. He is accused of having sex with an under age trafficked girl. Not paedophillia. Very different things.

Yes she will have known. A lot of people knew. A lot knew about Sean Combs and R Kelly and Gary Glitter, Ian Watkins, Roman Polanski, Jimmy Savile etc - the BBC pretty much all knew and largely thought it was amusing. Many very rich people and hangers on think that the abused are somehow actually different to them, and somehow deserve it.

I say this as the survivor of one of the above men who gave evidence at his trial. The worst thing for ME was knowing how many knew and did nothing, in fact helped him cover it up.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 26/09/2024 15:11

The last series of The Crown isn’t going to age well.

It’s shocking isn’t it. I don’t know how people can be privy to such knowledge and just carry on saying nothing.

Where on earth has anyone blamed the woman fgs??

MingingTiles · 26/09/2024 15:15

Everyone knew so yes, I’m sure they did.

I think people underestimate just how accepted all this stuff was, and I don’t just mean for Fayed. It was treated as par for the course.

How is this even a thread.

My thoughts exactly.

It's bloody ridiculous speculation.

oakleaffy · 26/09/2024 15:18

Fayed certainly had moods.
In Harrods Bank there were 12 beautiful bow rocking horses bought as gifts for staff-
But Fayed changed his mind on a whim.

( Was told that by staff member when I asked why there were rocking horses in the bank!)

Doseofreality · 26/09/2024 15:22

Well if you want to go down a conspiracy theory rabbit hole, maybe that’s why the establishment did away with her. You couldn’t have the future King related to yet another rapist, not whilst Priunce Andy is around.

5128gap · 26/09/2024 15:23

I'm sure they knew he wasn't a decent man who respected all women as equals. Given the time and the more lax attitudes, I'd imagine he was considered to 'have an eye for the ladies' and indulged in the way obscenely wealthy men tend to be. Diana would have probably claimed he was 'never anything but a gentleman to me'.

greenbluedays · 26/09/2024 15:23

I'm sure he kept that side of himself well hidden from those not on his payroll

LittleBitAlexisLaLaLaLaLa · 26/09/2024 15:31

Haven’t given it any thought whatsoever but Di was also good friends with Jimmy Saville. As was Charles.

No idea if she knew about Saville or Fayed being sexual predators but both were really creepy bastards and I don’t know how anyone could be friends with people who seem so “off”.

SallyWD · 26/09/2024 15:49

I haven't thought about this but I imagine they knew he was a lecherous flirt but not that he was a rapist. He's unlikely to have told family members that he was sexually assaulting women. At the same time, I'm sure they noticed his predatory behaviour.

Alli88 · 26/09/2024 15:57

I haven't wondered but I've no doubt that they did. Diana wouldn't let anything get in the way of money and raising her profile. She was a complete narcissist in the true sense of the word, not in the vastly overused sense that it is today. All that mattered to her was looking good and being praised. She was me, myself and I all the way.

MrsKwazi · 26/09/2024 16:04

Interesting that MAL never managed to become a british citizen, the establishment knew all about him.

Edited

All the more reason to accept him, given this establishment's record

Fayed being a creep or worse was reported in Private Eye at the time.

Yes, Private Eye's been talking about sexual abuse allegations for at least 20 years; presumably while Al Fayed was alive victims were too scared to come forward officially, but it's not exactly been a secret.
