Attention span dwindling

How long is your attention span? Specifically, how long can you go without reaching for your phone? Mine is shocking. I remember sitting and reading books for hours as a child, now I can't read, cook a meal, clean a room, do my work for more than 20 minutes without the urge to check my phone, mindlessly scroll mumsnet, Facebook, browsing rightmove for properties I'll never buy, browsing Amazon for Christmas presents, playing games etc etc etc.

What has happened to my brain and how can I reverse it?!

YABU - I put my phone in a drawer when I get home and don't look at it again until morning

YANBU - I look at my phone every 10 minutes or less. Not looking for anything in particular, just checking, but now that I have it in my hand I'll just quickly have a look at something. Oops, where did the last 30 minutes go?!

Yes I am 100% like that and it is a huge problem

Same

I'm a bit like this, I start to do something and then

It varies. I am quite comfortable leaving my phone at home when I go out and it was in my bedroom until 2pm today while I was downstairs working. Half the time I am not sure where it is. I can concentrate for a long time on a hobby and on a physical task (cleaning, gardening etc) and I can read for a bit although I finding cognitive tasks became harder in the last 5-6 years.

Same! It's terrifying.
