to be absolutely aghast that a wooden sandpit costs £400 and to then be not surprised that we are all in so much debt

well if you will go for tasteful

just buy a £20 plastic one from ARgos and put it behind a bush

pucca · 21/04/2008 11:44

You can buy them MUCH cheaper than that, we had one with a cover think it was £30 or something like that from Argos.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/04/2008 11:45

Poshos can afford it.

Real people buy a plastic one, or ask on freecycle.

Really real people build their own from ethically sourced wood.

charliecat · 21/04/2008 11:45

you will only be in debt if you buy it and cant afford it.
See if you can find something cheaper...and get a lid or the cats WILL shit in it.

TsarChasm · 21/04/2008 11:45

That is a five star looking sandpit though. How about a paddling pool with some sand in it?

I am still reeling from £40 for an hour and half bowling and a hotdog the other day. We're all going to stay at home and make paper aeroplanes and playdough every holiday at this rate.

''Is it a sand table? A water table? Maybe a picnic table? You decide''

It sounds like some telephone vote reality pap.

Nice though.

charliecat · 21/04/2008 11:49

we use one of those builders things that they mix cement on(big bitta plastic with slight edge) with old washing up bowl in middle for pond....

FYIAD · 21/04/2008 11:52

we alrady have the boat one

thought this would be a nice upgarde

Heifer · 21/04/2008 11:52

I like this one

and much cheaper

Blu · 21/04/2008 11:57

The roof is ridiculous.

It will be useless as shade except at noon at the equator because, you know, shadows are rarely directly underneath the sun.

Also unless rain always falls strictly vertically in your part of the world, i.e never when it is raining, it will still blow in, and every time you reach in to retrieve your best teapot, cooking imnplements etc that have been commandeered as sandpit playthings or clear out the hedgehog poo (because you will never remember to put the lid on every night), you will crack your head on it.

B&Q do wooden sandpits.

Blu · 21/04/2008 12:00

I do love the word 'aghast'.

francagoestohollywood · 21/04/2008 12:01

lol at blu! I hate sandpits anyway

nametaken · 21/04/2008 12:26

I'm not in any debt

Probably because I'd never pay £450 on a childs toy

mamablue · 21/04/2008 12:40

Good grief!! I think I saw that on Location, Location, Location last week. Is it in Kensington?

morningpaper · 21/04/2008 12:44
