Payment Query

I booked two spaces for a pony meet and greet on Friday afternoon via email with a company 40 mins away from me for my daughter with a friend and her little one for today. The weather didn't look too bad on Friday but it's got worse over the weekend and is now torrential rain. The company didn't ask for a deposit, just the full amount by bank transfer. As the weather is so bad I emailed this morning asking to move our booking but she has come back to say she still needs payment as she can't fill the spaces at short notice. Normally I'd still try and go as it's just a bit of rain but I've also got a 10 week old which is going to be impossible to keep her happy and dry as well as be there for my toddler (she knows I have another little one as I asked if she can come too). I will pay as I don't want to black listed but I just wondered if I'm in the wrong for being annoyed?

She can’t take the hit of a cancellation because you’ve got a baby. You weren’t unreasonable to ask, but she wasn’t unreasonable to say no.

As the weather is so bad

Is this for predicted weather for this coming Friday? Or did you book it on Friday afternoon and the booking was today?

Unless there was an official warning for some sort of storm I think it’s fair to not refund in this case.

If they still run in rain then that's a chance you took.

Was the booking for today? If so, of course it is unreasonable to expect a refund when cancelling at such a short notice.

Surely you put your youngest in a pushchair/pram with a raincover.
