To think my eyes look too harsh?

I’m trying to do more self care, I had ny brows done a couple of days ago. I think they look awful. I have naturally big brows but this is stupid looking.

I just want to look more polished and 🥺 yeah ..

@Gloriana1 OP has said she’s had them laminated. The colour is completely natural and her own. Lamination just means the hairs have been chemically treated to stand up vertically like that.

I know what lamination is.

I do think that big brows are splendid.

OP should blend rather than poof!

GildedRage · 23/09/2024 04:56

Too thick and harsh looking.

Oblomov24 · 23/09/2024 05:14

You have naturally great brows, so be thankful for that. I'm not keen on the laminated brushed up part, because it's incredibly unnatural and I really don't like it.

Skyrainlight · 23/09/2024 07:02

A bit too harsh for my taste but I prefer a natural look.

lololulu · 23/09/2024 07:25

If there is no tint what have they done apart from shape and tidy?

Pormbk · 23/09/2024 07:30

That’s very much the fashion now. I think they look lovely. I have thick, black eyebrows (a stranger once asked if I use sharpies to fill in my brows - I had nothing on them lol). Having a flattering shape is key. Anything too groomed look drag queen-y. But yours are great imo

MushMonster · 23/09/2024 07:32

Shape is great. They are really nice and full. I would not brush them upwards, I do not like this fashion. I would leave the sit naturally, alongside the brow shape itself.

Timetosparkle478 · 23/09/2024 07:56

If it’s a lamination, they should soften over the next couple of days, keep putting the aftercare treatment on that the therapist should have recommended so they keep hydrated, the hairs should relax over the next couple days

Riverswims · 23/09/2024 08:27

YANBU

Bbq1 · 23/09/2024 08:39

I think they would look better thinned slightly and for the shape to be more curved upwards at the end. Nice colour.

JC03745 · 23/09/2024 09:10

I, for one, had never heard of lamination. So its a perm for your eyebrows to get them to actually look bushy, and stuck up like that on purpose?
I've learnt something new today.

Yes, it's a really weird thing that was popular a few years ago. It gives you that strange surprised look.

Sussurations · 23/09/2024 09:19

It’s hard to say without seeing the rest of your face but

  • they look good
  • if that’s your natural brow and colour (which is beautiful) they probably suit you very well - they are unlikely to be too strong for your face
  • good for you for doing some self care! If you decide brow lamination isn’t for you, you can choose something else next time.
  • It’s always a surprise when something on your face looks different! In a day or two you’ll stop noticing them.
  • Brushing brows up has been trendy for a while but it’s also extremely classic. Look at pics of old Hollywood stars - they all did it.
turquoiseaquaeaudenil · 23/09/2024 09:33

Those are cartoon villain eyebrows. I would brush out the lamination, if that's possible. It's a stupid trend. It will fade in 6-8 weeks apparently. I never let anyone touch my brows - they tend to shape them so I look like a clown.

Freshflower · 23/09/2024 10:08

I think when you first have them done , it can stand out a bit and look too harsh. They actually look good and the colour will fade a bit. Is that your natural shape? I have naturally thin fair eyebrows but whenever I get them waxed and tinted , and it's only a light brown tint , I always think they look harsh. Just getting used to the darker colour I think

The colour is hers, they have just been laminated to stand up like that.

stanleypops66 · 23/09/2024 11:40

I think they look good.

CutthroatDruTheViolent · 23/09/2024 12:22

I'm not a huge fan of laminated brows, but I think if you can trim the ends off they'll look less 'fluffy' and more 'done' - sorry I'm struggling to explain what I mean, but this is what I do to make them look neat and tidy but not just brushed up if that makes sense. Maybe try a photoshop effort first to check you'll like it!

CutthroatDruTheViolent · 23/09/2024 12:23

But just to add they don't look awful! They probably just look different to what you're used to.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/09/2024 12:27

It's because they are brushed up,they don't look natural.

belevon · 23/09/2024 18:39

Gloriana1 · 23/09/2024 04:27

C'mon. They look angry.

Behave yourself.

I love a strong brow.

Stop colouring them in.

What are you talking about? I don’t colour my brows in, I don’t need too.

Post your brows. Bet you wouldn’t dare.

They are a bit much

LunaNorth · 23/09/2024 21:54

There are some incredibly rude people on this thread.

OP, your brows are gorgeous. I have eyebrows like Queenie out of Blackadder, and I’ve never even plucked them. They’re just naturally thin.

How anyone can say your brows are ‘harsh’ or whatever when the photo doesn’t even show the rest of your face, I don’t know.

Some people just get off on being rude to strangers on the internet. I can’t fathom it.

What a horrible comment to make to someone who is unsure of something and obviously conscious enough to ask for opinions. Your comment would have been ok without the first line!!

OP, give it a few days and see how you feel about them. It might just be because it’s something you’re not used to. You have a gorgeous colour and thickness so I’m sure if you didn’t do anything with them they’d look lovely

Excuse me? The OP said she finds them "stupid looking". I agree with her. She didn't do this to herself.

She has good thick dark natural brows, and some idiot has done this to them. The good news is the process is not permanent.
