To think my eyes look too harsh?

I’m trying to do more self care, I had ny brows done a couple of days ago. I think they look awful. I have naturally big brows but this is stupid looking.

I just want to look more polished and 🥺 yeah ..

That style was quite popular a few years ago but I really don’t like that look and it looks quite dated now. Eyebrow hairs shouldn’t stand right up like that and although they are nice and full they don’t look tidy at all. I would just brush them so that they follow the natural line of your brows.

DrinkElephants · 22/09/2024 22:03

I don’t think they look natural so can understand why you may not like them but I think they’re very on trend for eyebrow styles atm. If I saw someone with your brows I wouldn’t think anything of it.

gretathegremlin · 22/09/2024 22:03

Give it a couple of days and they'll have faded to something more natural.

It's been a while since I had my brows done, but I always used to scare the bejeez out of myself passing a mirror for the first day or two.

Learnfromexperience · 22/09/2024 22:06

I think they look great!

I'm so jealous. I lost my eyebrows because of my alopecia and I'd love to have eyebrows like yours.

PresidentBarklett · 22/09/2024 22:09

They're lovely- thick, strong and natural looking. I'm another one saying to brush them down, but that's only because I don't love the brushed up look on anyone.

Chickadoo · 22/09/2024 22:12

They look fab, wish mine were like this!

belevon · 22/09/2024 22:13

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 22/09/2024 21:55

What did you have done? Sorry but I don't think they look natural at all.

I mean that is 100% all my hair - no tint or any other colour treatment.

Thry have been laminated so the hairs fixed into a certain position.

Do you mean the tint though as I don’t have on any tint 🥺

What did they look like before, any pics?

Fannyfiggs · 22/09/2024 22:21

They look great.

They say your brows should be sisters, not twins but your brows are sisters that look very much like each other.

My brows, on the other hand, aren't even blood related 🙄

PyongyangKipperbang · 22/09/2024 22:23

The brushed up eyebrows thing was very fashionable in the late 80's early 90's, so perhaps that is making a come back. Personally not a fan (although I was back then) but I would just brush them straight across, will make a world of difference. I am very envious of the colour, may have to stop plucking my greys out and embrace tinting as soon I will have none left!

I think they look tinted from the lamination products. It gives the hairs that more ‘wet’ look.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with your brows though. They don’t look harsh.

If you don’t like the fixed place of them, get a clean spoolie brush, wet it and rub it on a bar of soap and comb through your brow hairs with it to move them until the lamination wears off.

The brushed-up/lamination/soap brows trend have been “in fashion” for the past couple of years to be fair. But seems to be dying off again with the ‘no-makeup makeup’ becoming more popular now.

Babbahabba · 22/09/2024 22:46

They're a bit short. The main bit is very thick and the side bits should be longer to balance them out.

I’m not doing it to be fashionable or on or off trend.

I don’t have an arch on one eyebrow (the hair just doesn’t grow), I thought lamination would be a good idea as the hair can be brush up so my brows looks more symmetrical. Rather than one arched and one one curved.

I am clearly a lot older now so eye brow fashion is not on my radar and i missed that! I sympathise with @belevon as I also have asymmetrical eyebrows with one nicely arched and the other looking like it belongs on another face!

honestasever · 23/09/2024 03:25

You just need to balance them with other makeup.

Eyeshadow, liner, mascara. Big up the eyes

HoppyZippy · 23/09/2024 03:58

I don't love them but they look fine. They would look silly on me as I'm fair but they would look fine on my darker coloured girls. I find lamination a bit fake looking for me.

Can you just scrub them?

Kiuyni · 23/09/2024 04:02

I know what you mean OP but honestly I think they look great. Strong and quite trendy looking.

C'mon. They look angry.

Behave yourself.

I love a strong brow.

Stop colouring them in.

If you have naturally big brows the best thing is to gently blend them in.

What did you have done to them?

I'm going to be honest, I don't love them. To harsh and dark.

Garlictest · 23/09/2024 04:38

I know someone with eyebrows exactly like that! We were friends DECADES before brow treatments came in, hers are naturally like this. She's one of the most dynamic, lively, popular successful women you could imagine.

Your new brows are a portent of great things to come 😁

BeatsAntique · 23/09/2024 04:44

They look great. I just got powder brows and microblading myself, it’s a bit jarring for a while but I’m a bit more used to them now.

You’re so lucky to have lovely dark, strong brows. Mine are blonde and over plucked. Thanks 1998 Gwen Stefani!

Toddlerteaplease · 23/09/2024 04:45

Laminated brows look ridiculous. Just let them lie naturally.

BeatsAntique · 23/09/2024 04:46

@Gloriana1 OP has said she’s had them laminated. The colour is completely natural and her own. Lamination just means the hairs have been chemically treated to stand up vertically like that.
