To think it's weird to deliberately flash people on holiday?

A friend of mine got drunk and told me that she regularly flashes people on purpose when she's on holiday at family resorts with her children. Sitting opposite men with no knickers on and crossing / uncrossing legs.

I'm not a prude but I don't think this is normal. There are codes of behaviour for different places. I think anyone who does this is not well actually.

Your friend is nuts. That's really awful.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 21/09/2024 17:42

I think intentionally showing people your genitals without their consent makes you a sex offender.

poppyzbrite4 · 21/09/2024 17:43

Course she does.

user47 · 21/09/2024 17:43

Indecent exposure is a form of sexual assault. I have never heard of a woman doing this, it is a common paraphilia for men. She is a sex offender, I wouldn't be friends with her.

purplecorkheart · 21/09/2024 17:43

Why is this person your friend? Grim

GirlMumGabby · 21/09/2024 17:44

Ew.

Umpteentimesnow · 21/09/2024 17:44

Is she called Sharon by any chance

takealettermsjones · 21/09/2024 17:44

From the title, I thought this was going to be a pearl clutching view on topless sunbathing 😂

But no it's not normal in the slightest and she wants her head checking.

FionnulaTheCooler · 21/09/2024 17:45

If her children are there then presumably other children are there too and could be subjected to this behaviour? Pretty scummy way to behave.

LittleBitAlexisLaLaLaLaLa · 21/09/2024 17:49

Flashing is a sexual offence. She’s a sex offender.

Embarrassingly grim

This, does she think she's wild and sexy and people will be impressed?

MissSkegness1951 · 21/09/2024 18:03

Presumably you called her a wrong 'in and threatened to report her to social services for gross sexual behaviour in front of her children?

5128gap · 21/09/2024 18:07

And how did you respond OP? Did you ask her why she did it, or tell her you thought it was terrible, and a big row followed...? You've only told half a story here.

I agree and this is where I'm uncomfortable.

I told her that imo this is not acceptable behaviour because nobody consented to see this. Her children are grown now.

You would never think that she was like this. And now she's saying it was a joke but I don't think so.

It's a very strange thing to make up so I presume she's telling the truth. It's also very strange behaviour for a woman. What's her background?

BeNavyCrab · 21/09/2024 18:26

I have seen someone who did this, when I was on holiday in Greece. It was pretty appalling, especially when there was loads of children in the pool and teenagers on sun loungers. It seemed like she was focusing on one boy who was about 14 from the looks of it. She was very drunk and in the end was escorted out by security because the "quiet private word" didn't work. If anything it just made her worse!

I'd be seriously worried about the friend, even if she was joking. It's not a joking matter!

Emmanuelll · 21/09/2024 18:27

She has a very high powered job and a lot of stress and illness in her life. She is now in her late 50s. I don't want to say too much because it's outing.

I'm autistic and often check in with others about situations that seem plain wrong to me. My immediate thought was 🤮 and that I will distance myself from her from now on.

I've got a young adult daughter who is autistic and she often has to ask to check if her instincts on something are "normal". So I understand why you are asking too. Rest assured that you are spot on, there's definitely something strange going on in your friend's head.

Skyrainlight · 21/09/2024 18:55

There is something wrong with your friend!

Wordsmithery · 22/09/2024 09:59

OP, just imagine she were a man. Acceptable to flash? Absolutely not.
There's your answer.

JMSA · 22/09/2024 10:00

Yuk, that is truly horrible.
