TTC while babysitting

AIBU? My husband and I are TTC. We were looking after my niece a few nights ago, and we set up her travel cot in the living room. After she went to sleep, we went to our room to DTD. While we were DTD, our NDN who we are really close with (and who knows my niece and her parents well) let himself in and my niece was fussing in her cot. When he realised what was happening he picked her up and took her home to his flat in the same building.

When me and my husband were done DTD we freaked out that my niece was missing, but luckily we figured out where she was before anything serious happened. I was terrified though for a few minutes.

YABU - we shouldn’t have TTC while in charge of a baby

YANBU - it’s fine, baby was safe and neighbour/friend should have left you to it

(FYI - I love Friends, this is tongue in cheek)

Whats TTC and DTD??

Very odd for a next door neighbour to come in and take a child that they aren't related to. Think the mother would freak. Are they close to the family?

Leaving a baby you are looking after crying and fussing in the cot while you have sex in another room is completely weird behaviour.

To be fair, Emma was sleeping at that point and Chandler was only home from Tulsa for the weekend. They had to take advantage of Monica's ovulation window.

Your life is a joke, are you broke?

WTAF! Why does your NDN have access to your flat and why in gods name did he take your niece? You having a quickie is not the issue, some guy having access to you flat and taking your niece to his place without the permission of the child’s parents or the person who was in her charge, is at best bizarre and at worst a monumental safeguarding issue!

I don’t see anything remotely amusing about this situation.

Oh this was a Friends reference, ok whatever.

Imagine if it's not a friends plot and they genuinely want advice?

Rule of thumb own a baby monitor and lock your doors!! (Joey just walks in)
