P Diddy arrested

poppyzbrite4 · 17/09/2024 11:04

P Diddy has been arrested on unspecified federal charges. There have been two raids on his properties relating to sex trafficking. He's also faced a series of allegations of sexual abuse including from his ex Cassie. There was CCTV evidence of him physically assaulting her and she claims she was raped and trafficked by him.

Other women have come forward accusing him of various offences including sexual assault. I'm wondering why these men get away with their criminal behaviour for so long. Why after #metoo are women being sexually abused by powerful men and what can be done about it?

People must have known what Diddy was doing for years, why didn't people come forward?

Didn't this happen months ago?
If not I am definitely psychic hehe.

But yes, loads of people knew and they get away with it because Metro didn't really change a whole lot for women that aren't huge celebrities.

Men are actively getting away with the same old shit now that they were then.

Nothing can be done about it, just like nothing can be done about less than 2% of rapes leading to convictions or men like Huw Edwards being able to view those despicable images and basically get away with it other than people talking.
The bloody judge even acted like he was commendable.

If the victim is a woman or a child, no one cares.

People have been, but he's either innocent up to now, or exceptionally good at covering his tracks.

He’s a wealthy and violent man who could ruin your career in the music industry so I understand why people said nothing and protected themselves and their families.

Do you understand those who observed Jimmy Saville raping children in hospitals as well?

Men are unlikely to face the consequences of ill treatment of women regardless of their status. For every powerful man who’s been exposed, it’s only a fraction of their crimes which are made public plus there’s millions of regular men who are also treating women badly.

People like R Kelly do get caught but it’s got to be a case of people like Diddy knowing that he’s unlikely to face his comeuppance - especially in a country like the US where being able to afford the best legal defence and knowing the dirt about other VIPs will get you better prison circumstances.

Take the example of Epstein. Where is his client list ? Why is Ghislaine the only one who has been put behind bars?

Thank you, sorry I was distracted and didn't read the link or proofread my comment. Silly me!!😭

Was he the moron on MTV cribs who led the cameraman to his bedroom and there was a bevy of lingerie clad women and he said that when he gets dressed in the morning he likes to be surrounded by beautiful woken watching him?

My daughter used to watch this programmed and I caught a few of them with her just so I could ridicule the absolute state of these idiots.

MouseofCommons · 17/09/2024 11:35

Good. He's given off red flag vibes for years.

No idea. Could be any one of these scumbags whose disgusting treatment of women is seen as adorable. Like Snoop Dog who was a pimp and calls women hoes and bitches but is suddenly a great character.

I had the misfortune to be working at an event he was at in the early 00s. He is a nasty, violent man.

She isn't justifying it, just advising that she understands why some people would protect their families first by saying nothing

Of course it's a justification. People like Saville got away with mass sexual abuse because people didn't speak out. They were all trying to protect themselves, meanwhile he was a prolific sexual predator. The same has happened here, yet again.

Didn't Dionne Warwick suggest Snoop needed to think about how his daughter might feel about his attitude towards women?

Didn't Dionne Warwick suggest Snoop needed to think about how his daughter might feel about his attitude towards women?

Not just him but a few rappers from the 90s:

In the new CNN film Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over, the “Heartbreaker” singer and Snoop recalled a time when she set up a meeting with a group of prominent ’90s rappers after deciding she’d had enough of the misogynistic lyrics notoriously present in the decade’s rap canon. The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” artist, Suge Knight and more were invited to arrive at her home no later than 7 in the morning — a prospect so intimidating, Snoop says he and his peers were all in her driveway by 6:52 a.m.

“We were kind of, like, scared and shook up,” Snoop said. “We’re powerful right now, but she’s been powerful forever. Thirty-some years in the game, in the big home with a lot of money and success.”

Once they arrived, the rappers were confronted by Warwick, who demanded they call her a “b—h” to her face. After all, that was the term many of them had been using to describe women in their lyrics.

“These kids are expressing themselves, which they’re entitled to do,” Warwick recalled thinking at the time. “However, there’s a way to do it.”

“You guys are all going to grow up,” she told the group. “You’re going have families. You’re going to have children. You’re going to have little girls, and one day that little girl is going to look at you and say, ‘Daddy, did you really say that? Is that really you?’ What are you going to say?”

I love the fact that these tough gangsters arrived at 6:52.

Snoop Dogg says this singer ‘out-gangstered’ him | CNN

Gangsta rap dominated the music scene in the ’90s, and then one legendary singer’s intervention forever changed the genre.

Unfortunately it is the usual story:

-Famous man makes a lot of money for a lot of people so he is indulged and protected.

-Famous man uses his wealth and power to manipulate and abuse vulnerable people/covers up his lifestyle

It is relentless in the news at the moment with: Andrew Tate, Huw Edwards, Neal Gaiman, P Diddy...

Not to mention the fact that even average men get away with raping and abusing women and girls every day as shown by the low rates of successful prosecutions in this country.

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 17/09/2024 14:21

It all comes down to money.
Everything is for sale. Everything.

It's a sick world we live in.

Riverrocksinastream · 17/09/2024 18:48

He has been charged with three crimes - racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Some of the details are horrendous.

The rumours about him have been doing the rounds for years on SM, he has the money to pay off his victims, the ex girlfriend who brought claims against him, dropped them after a payoff, subsequently there was video of him violently assaulting her.

Look at his circle of friends in high places, easy to understand why it was better to take a payoff than push forward with allegations. His buddies in the entertainment industry were mega influential, the likes of Oprah, Tyler Perry, Weinstein, Mariah Carey, lots of influence there, then add his posse of henchmen into the mix, probably paying off crooked cops on top of it, who would feel empowered enough to go up against that?.

In many ways, it's refreshing to know, thanks to SM, the chickens eventually come home to roost. Hope it is a house of cards which brings others down with him.

Riverrocksinastream · 17/09/2024 18:51

its other women AND men who have accused him of trafficking etc.
