Should I email after interview?

Hello!

I had an interview yesterday at very short notice for a job that I'd really like. As it was such short notice I didn't get to do quite the level of prep I'd usually want to do and felt a little unprepared as a result. We also were running out of time towards the end and as a result I didn't really ask much/anything insightful when we got to the 'do you have any questions for us' bit.

Do you think I should email to thank them for their time and maybe ask a couple of follow up questions to show my interest? Or is that pushy?? One of them did say to email if I had any questions etc...

Aargh. Help?

If you done this, I'd say really sorry we ran out of time I didn't get to ask xxx. But depending on what that ask is, something worthwhile obviously. Other than that, yeah I'd say its a bit much.

Go for it. If you have genuine questions and they literally said "email us if you have any questions" then why wouldn't you?

This most definitely fingers crossed for you

Thanks all! Yes, it would be two genuine questions specific to the role - not just standard 'filler' type end of interview questions. I'm just really lacking in confidence at the moment and am cringing at the thought of asking them stuff when they've already discounted me! Still, if they have I suppose there's no harm done 😬

Yes, do it. I did this and got offered the job. My boss later said it showed enthusiasm.

The deed is done. Wish me luck 🤞😬

Ha, no reply and I was rejected! Don't think the follow up had anything to do with it though, they were looking for some specific experience I didn't have.

In better news I have been offered a different job that actually seems a lot more suitable/interesting so it's all good 😅

Thanks everyone!
