Mine is a lyric from a Julien Baker song, and about setting personal boundaries in place.

whats yours? Grin

Wine in a box, plus I love a good pun 🍷

Like this one!

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 16/09/2024 10:53

Favourite song. Had to add an extra S as it was already taken.

AlexaSetATimer · 16/09/2024 10:56

I name change a lot and used to spend ages thinking up clever ones. Now it's just whatever happens to be around at the time - DH uses Alexa a lot when cooking for timers.

SleeplessInWherever · 16/09/2024 10:56

My stepson doesn’t sleep - we're talking 3hrs a night as an average. He’s also very “busy,” we spend about an hour in the house on weekend days.

So it was a thing on Sleepless in Seattle, and I was probably tired, because I’m always tired 😂

Swearwolf · 16/09/2024 10:57

Mine is from Rhys Darby in What We Do in the Shadows (the original film). He's the leader of a bunch of werewolves, and tells them off for getting rowdy by reminding them they are "werewolves, not swearwolves". I just enjoyed it!

I was breastfeeding when I joined MN. I've never been able to figure out how to name change.

@meganorks on the home/active screen on my phone, I go to the three horizontal lines at top right, click, then click my Mumsnet then I can change. I believe it can be different deleting on your device/if you're on the app or not.

CatchHimDerry · 16/09/2024 10:49

@DesigningWoman i don’t know maybe it is! I had forgotten the dog part, then watched it again this morning “Ahhhh the dogs pissing on the floor”, Derry with a bloody tea cloth and Maureen peering through the glass 😂👌🏼

I think it’s seven years old! Which I’m struggling to believe. Everything about it is perfect, including Derry’s shorts and socks combo, the the meal on the table, and Maureen having hysterics peering through the glass pane, and the dog’s nerves going bad, and ‘He’s making a mockery of you, Derry!’

UnctuousUnicorns · 16/09/2024 11:01

Nothing in particular, just made up a silly name. 🤷‍♀️

Ohfuckwhatdoidonow · 16/09/2024 11:02

🤣🤣🤣 frequent overwhelm, and I feel like shit just flies my way, so it feels like I'm constantly thinking, oh fuck! What do I do now! Probably more undiagnosed ADHD than anything, but yeah. Life I guess!

Letmehaveabloodyusernameplease · 16/09/2024 11:05

All the usernames I tried were unavailable.

Neverheather · 16/09/2024 11:16

My parents were struggling to choose between three names for me and Heather was one of them, they chose one of the others and I'm glad because I'd never have suited Heather!

Well I came to say, 'thanks, I've done it!' But instead MN has said I need to keep the same username on this thread! I was trying to be 'Lessbignorks'!

Viral video of Irish folk trying to catch a rogue bat in their house

Never fails to cheer me up

'Ohhh - the dog's after peeing on the floor!'

😂😂
Absolute gold. I cheer myself up with this also.

iamawarriorwhojustcrieseasily · 16/09/2024 11:35

People assuming I am not actually hard as nails just because I am ND and at times need to tearfully emotionally regulate!

zingally · 16/09/2024 11:36

Nothing really. Although the ending is similar to my real name. It's just a random username that popped into my head in my mid-20s when I was fishing around for a username. I've used it in a couple of different places over the years. It's one of about 4 different usernames I use according to my mood when signing up for things!

CatchHimDerry · 16/09/2024 11:37

@Laiste isn’t it gold. We’ve started a resurgence all watching it again now 😂

dentsdubonheur · 16/09/2024 11:43

I name-changed to add to a thread a few years ago about accepting your imperfections.

I have a gap between my two front teeth that I've come to accept as a unique imperfection. The French call a diastema or gap in the teeth 'dents du bonheur' which means lucky teeth and I rather liked it! 🤓

The one I wanted was taken so I had to use another one.

MorrisZapp · 16/09/2024 11:47

Only ever had this name. Morris Zapp is a fictional Californian English professor in the campus novels of David Lodge. Now and then I meet fellow Lodgians on here and we trade inside nods.

And good thing too! If there was such thing as Cheer Up Therapy it would be step 1.

It's straight out of Father Ted.

It's funny all the way through but the dog at the end just slays me 😆

thicklysettled · 16/09/2024 11:50

In certain parts of New England there are speed road signs that say "thickly settled", meaning "densely populated". I'm going through a particularly rotund stage right now, so it resonated 😄

MorrisZapp · 16/09/2024 11:54

Catch it Derry is the funniest video of all time! 'oh he's making a mockery of you boy'
