Mine is a lyric from a Julien Baker song, and about setting personal boundaries in place.

Father goose.

SpeculatingRooks · 16/09/2024 09:59

A lovely poem by Edward Thomas

Over the land freckled with snow half-thawed,
The speculating rooks at their nests cawed
And saw from elm-tops, delicate as flowers of grass,
What we below could not see,
Winter pass.

ElaineMBenes · 16/09/2024 09:59

My favourite sitcom

All important things to me.

HailtotheBop · 16/09/2024 10:05

A song by Django Django. Perfect as I love anything to do with space. (Hale Bopp is name of a comet).

Bette Davis quote from All About Eve.
"Fasten your seat belts, it's gonna be a bumpy ride"
It sums up my life!

It’s going to be a bumpy night

I love that film. Bette Davis is amazing.

Mine was when I was helping DS2 pack up his room for university and noodling about on Mumsnet as I did so. He had a poster of Spiderverse he asked me to roll up.

ThoseDarnCrows · 16/09/2024 10:14

I love crows, but...
I have 3 very large trees at the end of my garden....
A murder of crows were ousted from their home when builders bought 2 farms near to me, stripped out the land, and built a huge estate on it.....
So they took flight, spotted my trees, and moved in.

I really do love crows but......not at 4.0' clock in the morning....every morning!

Demonhunter · 16/09/2024 10:19

@catchhimderry it's the "you're no help behind the door Maureen" while hiding behind the other door makes me laugh 😂

FilthyforFirth · 16/09/2024 10:19

I fancy Colin Firth

Viral video of Irish folk trying to catch a rogue bat in their house

Never fails to cheer me up

Oh I'd forgotten about that - it was a classic. Made me laugh so much. Must go watch again.

amusedbush · 16/09/2024 10:42

Mine is a nod to Sex and the City - the scene where we first meet Smith. Carrie et al are out for dinner and he introduces himself as their waiter.

Smith: "To get you started, a little amuse-bouche"
Samantha (to Carrie): "I'd like him to amuse my bush"

CatchHimDerry · 16/09/2024 10:43

@AlexaSetATimer were bringing it back, all of us here re-watching the bat 🦇 😂

Ohmycarrots · 16/09/2024 10:43

Love monster. My daughter always says it 😆

RustyBear · 16/09/2024 00:29

This is Rusty Bear. My mum knitted him for me to take in my pocket to school on my first day, 63 years ago this week. He was originally a deep rusty-red colour, but after several washes in my pocket and a moth attack, he’s now light brown with darker patches.

That's lovely

This was just doing the rounds again recently — was it an anniversary? It’s still practically perfect. I think it’s the pissing dog part, as well as the voiceover, that makes it comedy gold. And Derry being called Derry. ‘Catch him, Cillian/ Donncha/Andrew!’ would have been nowhere near as funny.

Legendofthelostkeys · 16/09/2024 10:47

After the excellent Look and Read series. I must have watched it more than 10 times over the years with various Y3 and Y4 classes and they always loved it!

CatchHimDerry · 16/09/2024 10:49

@DesigningWoman i don’t know maybe it is! I had forgotten the dog part, then watched it again this morning “Ahhhh the dogs pissing on the floor”, Derry with a bloody tea cloth and Maureen peering through the glass 😂👌🏼
