Been living in my property for two years, currently 8 months into 12 month contract (he always renews for a year),
The property is managed by the letting agency, however the LL had a habit of contacting my directly.
Overt the last year I’ve haD 4 property inspections via the agency - all have been fine with no issues.
However on top of this the landlord keeps wanting to “pop in” when they are in the area (about every two months) and it’s getting too much z
on top of this the LL seems to be want to pressure me to do DIY jobs that are NOT in my remit for example
- I asked about moving some pipe work as the LL had mentioned he was having some done (this was in passing - oh if you’re doing x, would it be possible to move y”. Work isn’t being done but LL is pretty much pressuring me personally to do it. And I mean personally - I fobbed him off and said “oh I got a quote and I don’t want to do it” and he’s saying “well you only need to move the drain here etc. when I said I’m not doing DIt (nicely) he was quite rude.
- one of the back door locks is a bit sticky - raised this at inspection with agency just as a “just so you know” thing - LL is telling me to buy a new barrel and fit it myself
- a fence panel blew down and again it was “I’ll buy a new panel and you can just fit it.
On top of this - I’d asked the agency whether they knew someone who does carpet steam cleaning as after three years it could do with a freshen up (for me to pay etc). LL got wind of this and now keeps texting me “have you got the carpets cleaned yet” as though it’s an obligation rather that something I’ve chosen (and I’ve not done it yet).
I get texts about once every three weeks with something or another - and again to point out - the agency manage the property
so my question is - I don’t want upset the LL - I do like living here - but I just ideally want to deal with the agency and stop having these mad demands to do DIY (there have been more than the above)
